Massively unfair on the Irish under-20 lads. Not only do they not get to finish their remaining under 20 matches, it has also been announced that there will be no winner for the 2020 under-20 six nations.

Find it very hard to believe that if England or France were top of the table, requiring one win, with two matches remaining and clearly the best team in the competition, that they wouldn’t be crowned the default champions.

Unfair they dont get to finish the games as will really affect many contract negotiations and it will be the end of quite a few players international rugby careers now.
      Wouldnt agree bit about England/France

Very poor and sparse press release that makes the under-20 championship look very amateurish. You'd think they could give some justification or follow up as to why the under-20 championship was cancelled due to "scheduling constraints" and the mens/womens is going ahead, while appearing to have the same, if not more constraints.

20s isnt the same as the mens or womens games. Coaches will be working with the next cohort and building for their games. Players more likely going to be playing with their provinces/clubs.

The Irish under-20 squad usually only come together at around Christmas.

Are you honestly arguing that an Ireland under 20 team, half of whom will be playing club-rugby or in sub-academies, have more scheduling constraints than the Ireland senior team, most of whose teams will be scheduled to play close to 40 games of professional senior rugby?

If we are using the argument that the under-20 players will miss out on the opportunity to play with their provinces/clubs while the senior Internationals are away, then why don’t we just get rid of the six nations under-20 championship altogether, as that happens every year.

The players who will be under 21s next season should be stepping up to play other levels.
With international rugby and everything else the way they will be with pro rugby the guys who will be under 21s will be needed even more for the pro squads.
The next players will be playing 20s.

Again, there are always extra gaps in club/provincial squads when the internationals are away during the six nations. I don't see why this should be used as justification to cancel the remaining six nations matches, any more than any other year, especially when there are only 3 games left.

Some of the next crop of under-20 players could have been with under-21 squad, most of next year's under-20s would be with their interprovincial under-20 squads, which is what they would have been doing anyway at that time of the year.
