I don't know if it's an inaccurate impression, or down to season issues or what but they do sometimes seem to be fairly relaxed about their international careers.

I can't remember, for instance, any instances of the Island unions having to push for the release of internationals from Premiership clubs in the way that England have over the last few seasons.

Alesana Tuliagi, for instance, has 21 caps for Samoa according to Wiki. Caucaunibuca's level of disinterest in international rugby is legendary. Rabeni has 27 caps for Fiji.

Sort of understandable, they can take a big financial hit from being too involved with their country.

They basically have to pay their own way to play and also clubs might have less interest in them if they play too much with their nation

Thing is in theory there's nothing anyone can do to stop
them playing IRB sanctioned matches/tournaments. The
reality is a lot of these guys are being signed to cover for
home grown players being off at international matches and
might not get their contracts if they go as well.

Refusing to play for his country, saying his biggest regret
was playing for Fiji & now saying Wales are a huge force &
will have little problem seeing of Fiji. New low for rugby,
this guy is as bad as any chavball merchant.

Nacewa does not foresee Fiji creating another shock result
in New Zealand and believes Wales can be World Cup
        contenders.

"Once the Welsh squad get all their players back and get a
bit of time together I think they are going to be a huge
force to be reckoned with," added Nacewa.

"There are a lot of players out at the moment. When they
come good I think they will be right there come World Cup
        time."

His biggest regret was playing for Fiji? Don't pull stuff directly out of your rear end. I've read him saying that he has no regrets in doing it. The man was signed by Leinster as they thought he wasn't going to be playing International rugby, and they probably would pay him a lot less if he was playing international rugby as he wouldn't be available as much. Nothing in his quote says they'd have "little trouble" seeing off Fiji, other than him saying Wales are going to be strong.

A new low for rugby, hahahaha, take it to Leinsterfans would ya.

                  He also stopped Connacht signing
Benson Stanley.Shame on him. Time for him to sling his
hook. This behavior cannot be accepted.

Yeah their pathetic expressions of support for Pacific Island rugby would hold more credence is they didnt engage in this dog in the manger behaviour .... not to mention the fact the All Blacks have never toured any of their neighbours -- ffs even we've managed to make it to Tonga and Fiji and we're the other side of the world
