Gissing banned - from planet rugby

Ben Gissing appeared was cited for punching an opponent in Heineken Cup match on 9 December, appeared before a disciplinary committee on 20 December, was found guilty and suspended.

      @@@@SPAN id=intelliTXT>
The incident occurred when Gissing was playing for Calvisano against Ospreys at Centro Sportivo San Michele in Calvisano.
Gissing appeared in Dublin before a committee chaired by Christopher Quinlan (England) and also comprising Bruce Reece-Russel (England) and Caleb Powell (Ireland).
He was found guilty of punching an opponent and suspended for 14 days, starting on 2 January 2007.

Interesting twist that his suspension isn't starting straight away !!@@@@/SPAN>

An independent Disciplinary Committee has imposed a fine of €5,000 on Perpignan as a result of a misconduct complaint brought by ERC against the club regarding ticketing arrangements for the Round 2 Heineken Cup Pool 1 match against London Wasps at Stade Aime Giral on 28 October, 2006.

The Committee found that Perpignan failed to make available to London Wasps the required ticket allocation for visiting Clubs. London Wasps requested their full allocation of 15 percent of every ticket category and Perpignan failed to make these available to London Wasps.

not a clue.. suspect it may have been something to do with whatever advertising they may have around their grounds .. noticed cardiff taking down one of the ad boards over in the Arms park during the match.

Ah, could well be. The clubs are obliged to provide a "clean" stadium for their hosted games.

Sale haven't played the hairsprays in stockport yet, so it cannot be due to their ad boards.

Looks like Quinlanis the hanging judge of the ERC.

                      All stiff penalties there.

Wonder why Munster Branch didn't provide counsel for Quinny. Sending the CEO and PRO wouldn't be the advised support. I'm not sure I'd be too happy with Garrett and Geraghty representing me on a speeding ticket in front of e.g. Justice Mangan.
