Wow- ROG gets around- fantastic opportunity to work with a really top coach. When he graduates from finishing school, he’s going to have some cv.

Munster head coach after that? Timing would look about right, and he’ll have be pretty experienced at that stage. Will have had the chance to apply what he learned in NZ to a NH side.

Cant say I’m not disappointed he’s not joining us as attack coach right now because I think he’d be perfect, and could be a fantastic influence on Joey and Bill Johnston too.

Vannes in the S/F of the Pro D2 and closing in on top 14 next year. A great boost for Breton rugby if they make it. Frombrittany is floating on air these days!

not this year. tough game. Brive was the best and tallest team on the field 40/20 (39' 9/13 and high hopes !!). whatever very proud of this side, fantastic season with big Dan Tuohy !

Vannes are a superb team with a super spirit, offensive game, permanent movement, full stands, nice atmosphere... Really enjoyable club.
PS: They had the best fullback of ProD2 who is heading to Montpellier. He deserves to play at high level. This said, this guy is not from Britanny.. He is from a corner around Dax, and do you know what?.. As he was in the academy of USDax, from what I read, he was not considered as good enough! Mouahahaha! Enough to shoot yourself a testicle in the head!..
"To be energetic and self-sufficing is to be happy; but while one desire remains in the heart happiness may not come there. For to desire is to be incomplete: it is the badge of dependence, the signal of unhappiness, and to be freed from that is to be freed from every fetter that can possibly be forged." Anthony Bouthier arrived in Vannes in 2013 by the grace of Pierre Tarance who recommend him to the manager. During the first months here he was a bricklayer and now leaves Vannes as local heroe. Best of luck to Antho at Montpellier. A wonderful player and a so lovely guy, humble.

my personal dream to see one day vannes v Munster Rugby is not so far. I would love to see Munster Rugby here for pre season stage and a friendly game like at La Rochelle in 2012... God only knows...

What an incredible try, and what a great build-up to a game!

After starting in August, the Top 14 has finally reached Round 26 with all games starting at the same time (3:15pm Irish Time) on Saturday. Main focus of interest is the battle between Montpellier in 6th and La Rochelle in 7th for the last barrage spot. Montpellier are at Clermont, La Rochelle host Bordeaux. In theory both could overtake Racing 92 and Castres if they were to slip up. La Rochelle have the Challenge Cup route into the 2019/20 Heineken Cup if they fail to make the barrage.

All settled at the bottom with Perpignan rock bottom and Grenoble awaiting the loser of the Brive/Bayonne Pro D2 Final on Sunday (1pm Irish Time). Interesting to note that the side who won Pro D2 last year finished last in T14 and Grenoble who lost in the final to them find themselves in the same playoff scenario as last season. Need a big playing budget to stay in T14.

Hoping La Rochelle make the cut, leading to a demi-final weekend in Bordeaux of Toulouse, Clermont, La Rochelle and Racing.

I say it every year but the top14 semi-final weekend is well worth going to, two matches, great fans filling one city for a weekend.

Our French cousins use head to head for the 1st tiebreaker for teams tied on points.

                              Lyon > Racing 92
                              Castres > Lyon
                              Racing 92 > Castres
                              Racing 92 > Montpellier
                              Racing 92 > La Rochelle
                              Castres > Montpellier
                              La Rochelle > Castres

                              Montpellier > La Rochelle

                              Toulouse 93
                              Clermont 82
                              Lyon 74
                              Racing 92 69
                              Castres 69
                              Montpellier 66
                              La Rochelle 66

1 point for Lyon secures them a home barrage qualifier. If Racing 92 and Castres both win, then Racing 92 need to match Castres' match points to have a home qualifier in the Disco Arena. La Rochelle need to get more match points than Montpellier to get into the Top 6.

                              In Semi Finals

                              Toulouse v 4th/5th
                              Clermont v 3rd/6th

Castres drop from 5th to 7th, lost at home to RCT and miss out on HC next season.

Montpellier win by a point at CA and La Rochelle smashed Bordeaux 80-12, so finish in the top 6 which means Sale get in to the HC.
