Yeah i know it's meaningless but it warms the heart to know that this
Leicester team are at the top.

Look at Toulouse though. Outside the top 10 - I can't remember them
ever being outside the top 5

That ranking system is rank and absolutely meaningless.

Idiotic, what is this suppose to give? An idea of the strength of the teams on a few years span or a snapshot of the current form?

If current form, BO definitely behind St Français and Clermont (that would reflect the current Top 14 hierarchy).

If it takes last year into account, then Clermont should not be there and Munster (HEC champion), Ulster (ML champions) and Leinster (HEC SF) should be closer to the top.

They cover the last 30 games, so about a season's worth.

Europe's no. 1 team coming to TP in January!!

Sure, we haven't a hope! Our unbeaten record is bound to fall finally.

It is all due to the weightings they give to the teams/competitions/results etc. It is totally discredited at this stage. An irrelevance.

Clearly, the rankings do not tell you who is the 'best' team in Europe.

They do, however, give a reasonable guide as to who the most consistent team in all competitions is over the last 30 games. Leicester have been a mile more consistent than Munster in their domestic league, hence the ratings.

Counts for nothing, ultimately.

Funny thing is Leinster have a record very similar to Leicester, 2nd in
the league and lost 1 Hcup match and are 8th or something

But haven't the teams Leicester have beaten, on average, been higher ranked than Leinster's victims ? You might not agree with the rankings, but that would explain the disparity.

Maybe, im sure its weighted so GPL teams get more points because their
league is stronger. But that is not a true reflection on how good the
sides are
