Funny thing is that Dev has always had the offload in his locker. The Mal O'Kelly comparisons have always been a bit disparaging in these quarters but he's similar in the way he's a footballer rather than a lump in that position.

No, whimper, Douggie was still a first choice for NZ when he signed for Munster before the '07 RWC.

EDIT 30th of August according to Wiki.

He was rested for the QF v France which they lost.

O'Brien still looks to have slimmed down a bit much. Hopefully that's just him looking after his body so he's not broken in a year but he'll be a different player. Luckily he showed today he has a more subtle side than maybe he's been asked to show for Ireland.

Gladly corrected - was sure he'd been told he was on the way out. Munster and Irish rugby's gain either way.

An Indian summer- which will hopefully last well into the autumn.

I couldn't help thinking of Axel and Strings watching Conan take off on a quick tap and go...
Conan has come on well this season and always puts in a good stint. He's a strong carrier, has some gas, a good engine and a bit of dog. It's hard to see beyond Stander and Conan for the No.8 slot in the RWC squad.

Cronin has a calf injury and a doubt for the final. Adam Byrne picked up a quad injury against Glasgow and will miss the rest of the season.

The bookies rarely get it wrong, but I'd have Leinster as slight favourites. I might be tempted to have a wager!!!

                      Full strength
"There are a lot of points that we’ve left behind and this is with a young group. That probably tells you what they’re capable of and that they’re a very good side.

Probably next year or the year after next they will take some stopping"

Anthony Foley, May 2016. Axel RIP

Good to see the younger players get gametime as well as the potential bench players for final games

Looks like Sarries have picked their strongest side for this weekends game against Wasps, presumably with the intention of resting players next weekend against Exeter who they most likely won’t be able to catch anyway.

Looks a lot smaller than he was alright. Really interested to see how he progresses between now and the RWC. Will he power up a bit over the summer or is he reinventing himself as a more mobile 7 to prolong his career? Starting to think he could actually time his run perfectly and might have a big impact for us (Ireland), which we’ll need with Leavy out.

ROG says in de paper that Seanie has another few gears in him and we’ll see him back to his best in the Autumn.

                              Gears or years?

Mcfadden gets leinsters second try on the stroke of HT to make it 7-13.

He can thank the lack of camera angles he's still on the pitch, after throwing a head butt at Reidy earlier in the half.
