Great for Ulster. McGrath is not in top form at present, but he is a great prop at his best and has played test rugby for the Lions. This move could invigorate him and Ulster. He's only 29 and has several good years ahead of him. At this rate Ulster will soon be able to field a complete pack of 8 Leinstermen.

Have just noticed Ulster’s run in, two handy games Dragons today, kings at home, but then away to Glasgow and Edinburgh, before a home game to Leinster. Betteton finish up with zebra, after two trips to Connacht and Leinster sandwiching our trip to them. Scarlett’s have Edinburgh and Zebre at home, away to Cardiff and Dragons.

Our loss to scarletts last night did Ulster no favours, I hope they don’t reciprocate when they travel to Glasgow.

Ulster loosehead, Leinsterman Eric O'Sullivan, has been a revelation this season. As well as doing all his set-piece duties more than competently, he has a great engine and is outstanding in loose play, with good gas, soft hands, an eye for the gap, a rugby brain, and always has a high tackle count. The complete modern day, ball-playing prop, he's consistently good and getting better with every game.
In all-round play, I would now rate him as about as good as Kilcoyne, and probably better at using the ball.
Schmidt must have his eye on him. This year's RWC is probably too soon for him, but I expect to see this lad on the Ireland squad before too long and to contribute significantly to Irish rugby in the next generation of front rowers.
He will have a grand joust with Jack McGrath for a starting spot at Ulster next season.

McCloskey carried three defenders over with him in scoring that try.

                Horrible-looking leg injury for Ludik.

Lovely step by Lowry to make Ulster's second try.

Try for Kings - Penxe made it look easy, his pace is so deceptive. 14-5.

Quite a funny try for Kings which proves that you really, really should play to the whistle. Bayer(?) didn't manage to take the offload and it came off his torso and then his knee - he actually threw his hands up in disgust but then kept running, caught the ball on the bounce to touch it down and immediately asked the ref to check it with the TMO. Ref initially was going to call it a knock-on and subsequent offside, but the TMO called it back and the try is awarded. 14-12!

Third try for Kings brings the score to 28-19. All came from a really dopey penalty by Treadwell.

Wow, red card for Kings 12 and yellow card for Kings 16 from one piece of reviewed footage - both involving high contact with the head.

FT 33-19, Ulster managed to maul one over shortly before the Kings' sinbin period was up but otherwise didn't really make the most of their two-man advantage.
