STADIUM 2/3rds EMPTY FOR HEC SEMI

Apparently Wasps & Saints have only sold 13000 seats for their HEC semi in the Ricoh (32000 capacity). whats that about ??????????

Okay both have potentially bigger games in a weeks time (especially saints !) but you would have thought their fans would have been a bit more interested !!!

What bigger game than a HEC semi? Okay Northampton need a win to stay in the GP but still a HEC semi final is the second biggest domestic game you can play in...the final being the biggest...

It just goes to show that many of the GP clubs aren't as big as they seem to think they are. They might make a good few quid out of Sky but they really don't have that much support to call on.

If we had three teams in the HEC semis the whole country would be buzzing because almost everybody would be represented by a team playing at the weekend. There'd be tickets going for huge money on Ebay and everybody would be calling in the favours to try and get a sniff of a seat. Over here in England it gets shag all coverage other than the Rugby Club and a page or two in the better quality papers (after pages of stuff about football and cricket of course).

if ever there was proof needed that we irish are the bestest most fantasticest supporters of sport in the whole wide world. sporting organisations would want to sart copping on and i'm not just talking about the erc, i'm looking at fifa, uefa and whoever runs the olympics - without 40-50,000 drunken paddies falling about the place, with at least 200 dressed as leprechauns, no sporting event is ever complete.
