    Euro Cup-Tigers update

    http://www.leicestertigers.com/rugby/23606.php
Attached report of one of your opposition sides for the upcoming European Cup , a lot of new names with the new coach Aaron Mauger not using the returning World Cup players that played recently. A fair sprinkling of academy players too getting a run out after a fairly successful pre season run in the Kings of the North thingy that ran in the early stages of the World Cup. Tigers lost away to Sale, then won home and away with Newcastle Falcons before the last win at Welford Road against Sale. There was also a game against Argentina for Marcos Ayerza testimonial season, though he played against the Tigers for his home nation.
We have returning England players Cole and the two Youngs brothers back training along with Goneva, but have a fair injury problem too with Mulipola limping off last weekend to add to our woes, plus Freddy Burns also out. Nice to get the young Owen Williams back fit again, high hopes for his career, though if he wants to play for his country I guess he will be going back to Wales before too long. Kitto is due to join us from NZ now his commitments there are completed, so he may figure on the bench in the next few weeks.

Dan Cole didn't have a very good wc in my opinion, sure Tigers will put that right, the Youngs both played well though, pity the rest didn't........................

Can't keep track of the rumours, I am told he is on the way, but don't know when, just gossip at the moment, same with Sonny Bill.

JdV seems to have signed on a short term contract, expected to train in a month, depending on jaw injury, SBW to replace him after the Olympics as he's in the 7's team apparently.

Jean de Villiers: Leicester Tigers sign ex-South Africa captain
Leicester Tigers have completed the signing of former South Africa captain Jean de Villiers.
The Premiership club initially failed to agree a deal with the 34-year-old centre but talks later resumed.
De Villiers, who played 109 times for South Africa, was part of their World Cup-winning squad in 2007.
He led the Springboks at the 2015 World Cup but announced his international retirement after suffering a fractured jaw against Samoa in the pool stage.
De Villiers, who will link up with Leicester at the start of December, is South Africa's most-capped centre and was named their player of the year in 2008 and 2013.
Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill said: "Jean brings invaluable experience to the squad.
"He is among the leading centres in the modern game and has played at the very highest level for a significant period of time.
"In recent seasons we've brought in players like Brad Thorn and Lote Tuqiri from successful environments in the southern hemisphere and they have made a significant contribution here.
"The signing of Jean is another move in that style and we look forward to welcoming him and his family to the Tigers and to him starting work with us on 1 December."

                        14 Adam Thompstone
                        13 Matt Smith
                        12 Seremaia Bai
                        11 Vereniki Goneva
                        10 Owen Williams
                        9 Ben Youngs
                        1 Fraser Balmain
                        2 Tom Youngs (c)
                        3 Dan Cole
                        4 Dom Barrow

                        7 Lachlan McCaffrey
                        8 Jordan Crane

                        Replacements
                        16 Harry Thacker

                        22 Peter Betham
                        23 Mathew Tait
9 starters EQ and 3 on the bench, think it's 10 out of our academy, notice we are rotating a few players, possibly with next week in mind.

Do you not think there is going to be some sort of adjustment to the numbers of foreigners in the AP?
