    HEC table proppers

All six sides on the bottom of the group tables are Rabo teams with not even a win between them. Adding fuel to the fire of the English and French argument about a shake up ??

Does it prove that losers are somehow better if they're English or French rather than Scottish, Italian, Welsh or Irish? I would say no.

There is absolutely no merit in the Anglo Frrench postion.

And this is a zero sum game, every extra penny they get is a penny less for our provinces. It weakens us and makes them stronger.

Just because they are the privately owned hobbies of rich men doesn't make them more worthy of an extra penny than Leinster or Edinburgh or Llanelli or whoever.

It's the first time in a few years that the French/English haven't made a noticeable contribution to lying on the arse of the pools. It's a bit disengenuous to bring it up now because it suits a certain agenda, even if the Pro12 sides are in pretty poor shape.

That is the problem though . . . .the timing is shocking . . . .Edinburgh/ Cardiff etc picked a fine year to implode in Europe.

Last year by contrast saw no Premier****e teams in the last 4, 1 Scot, 1 French and 2 Irish.

Or you could look at it another way: Last year 3 of the 6 pools were propped up by a French team.

Being realistic about it the two worst teams in the HC are known before a ball is kicked, and they play in the Pro12. That issue is less about the Anglo-French place in the competition and more about whether we want Italy to be a viable home for the game.

What we really need is Wales to get their **** together.

And if the Rabo teams had dominated the tournament from start to finish this would also probably be deemed "adding fuel to the fire" for the Anglo-French argument.

Get rid of the likes of Zebre, but don't give up on the likes of Treviso, who are really improving as a result of this competition. One a country for Scotland/Italy seems fair.

Treviso have been in one of the worst pools of death of all time, and even the English press have grown serious respect for the way they've fought their corner. Everyone has had to fight like dogs against them for anything.

Spot on. I respect them more than Embra, Blues etc. Improving and growing and are nobody's pushovers. Treviso have benefitted from exposure at this level.

And could well have beaten Leicester in Treviso if Rolland hadn't gifted the Tigers that late late penalty try.
