Well a better mood for me this week, not the vintage Tigers performance by a long way, but 5 points from Pat Lams Bristol side will do nicely thank you

I see Farrell had another legitimate dodgy tackle at the weekend.

The Premiership shareholders have decided to divide Saracens' fine amongst them.

Exeter have put the money into their Charitable Foundation.

"Given where it has come from, the board felt it should go straight into the Foundation’s Funds, which will benefit hugely and use the money to help a great deal of charities and organisations within our local community.” Said Tony Rowe, the Exeter CEO.

          From the BBC

"Saracens squad faces possible overhaul, says interim chief executive Edward Griffiths"

"It's too early to say what we will do, but anybody running a business or anybody running any organisation who, for whatever reason, needs to reduce the salary bill has two fundamental choices," he told BBC Sport.

"One would be to reduce the head count and the other would be for people to take a pay cut. Now I'm not saying either or both are necessary, but those would be the two options or a combination of the two."

"I think the first step is really to demonstrate, unequivocally, that we are operating within the salary cap in the current season, in the 2019-2020 season, and that is really a challenge on two levels. It's a challenge with spreadsheets and calculators and the numbers, but it's also a challenge in terms of perception."

Why has it taken them so long to spot what was so obvious to everyone else immediately
"There are a lot of points that we’ve left behind and this is with a young group. That probably tells you what they’re capable of and that they’re a very good side.

Probably next year or the year after next they will take some stopping"

Anthony Foley, May 2016. Axel RIP

They didn’t want to- Wray and others have had huge support in the media, and from those in the Premiership and RFU who want commercialisation to succeed, the implication that they cheated their way to titles, and may still be doing so, is not something that sells.

It actually isn't. It is called arithmetic, and once you go over a certain number, you're violating the rules. Ooh, those damn spreadsheets and numbers must be at it again !

That is part of it, and it did them no harm to be the only english team in the HC with a shot of winning the thing. Also they provided a massive chunk of the england team; having all those guys playing together all the time made them a better squad at test level so they were going to have a bit of cover from the media.

It will be interesting to see how it shakes out moving forward; for all their talk that the GP is great, it really isn't. It has been a two horse race for the better part of five years now, and one of those horses was illegally in the race.

Sarries focusing on cutting “older players” and fellas coming to the end of their current contracts, according to Griffiths.

I’m sure some lad who’s contract is not getting renewed, or some older player who’s being pressured to take a wage cut because he has few alternative options, won’t feel hard done by at all that Farrell, Itoje and the other lads who got the dodgy property deals, are being well looked after.

If you are making someone redundant, it typically doesn’t come from the ‘pay’ budget. Guys could get a nice settlement, I wonder whether they could still play til the end of the season as part of the deal without being ‘paid’- thus squeezing under the cap?

That's got to be a serious contract in Japan; he was a regular in their test squad.
