    Leicester have approached Argentina coach Marcelo Loffreda to
    succeed outgoing boss Pat Howard, according to BBC Radio Leicester.

    </font>

    The 47-year-old Loffreda is to consider the offer over the next few weeks.
    </font>

    "It's a possibility," said Loffreda, whose Puma side
    beat England 25-18 at Twickenham in November. "I have had talks with
    officials here in Leicester.
    </font>

    "I'm very proud for the job to be linked to me because it is recognition for Argentine rugby."

    Loffreda took over as coach of Argentina in March 2000
    and has since taken the Pumas to sixth in the IRB World Rankings, with
    victories over most of the top nations including England, France, Wales
    and Ireland.
    </font>

    The former centre, who won 44 caps for Argentina, has never coached outside of his native country.

    He added: "If the meetings go on, I will have to take a
    big decision not only for me but also for my family. So I will wait and
    everybody has to have some patience. I need to have more meetings.
    </font>

    "I am very passionate about this game. I've been playing
    since I was 10 years old. I played for my first team for 20 years and
    for the Pumas for a decade. </font>

    "I'm always going to be involved in rugby. If I can do that at this club, I would love that."
    </font>

    South Africa coach Jake White and Australia assistant
    coach Scott Johnson are among others thought to be in the frame for the
    Leicester coaching job. </font>

    Former Wallaby international Howard succeeded John Wells
    as head coach at Welford Road in 2005. He is leaving at the end of the
    season to take over the running of his family's pharmacy business in
    Australia. </font><!- E BO ->
