Really? Junior division 3. Not sure the city needs another club never mind one at j1 level and surely starting at j2 level would make more sense?

Anyone know what the Munster Junior League Cup is on munsterrugby.ie?
What levels it for etc? One group appears to be 4 of the city senior clubs but nothing for the other groups.

Ardscoil Old Boys RFC confirmed for Gleeson League for the 2018/19 season to test the clubs viability. Should the club complete the season successfully in terms of playing all games with adequate playing numbers, the club will enter J3 from the following season onwards.
and my home, my home is there.

Good to see them going to j2 first. Better for them in long term

I know the junior season is nearly over but.....The junior cup has become a joke of a competition!! The amount of walk overs is ridiculous, at first i thought the branch should punish teams for not fulfilling fixtures, but in fact its the branch that have made the monumental f*ck up!!! how else can someone explain 9 walkovers.....

                Junior rugby is struggling....

How do you change it? Is it the junior committee or the clubs and issues with them that Munster junior committee/branch cant fix

1.change time of year the junior cup is run off... this time of year is crunch time for plenty of teams, top and bottom. have early rounds of the junior cup completed before (regional cups like transfield and cork county cup can be played)
                    2. give teams an option of entering the junior cup- if they think they do not need the extra games due to small squad, do not play...or knock out teams then give a walkover! ( this may already be the case) punish teams that do not fulfill fixtures- precedent set in the junior leagues if you do not complete a fixture you get docked points, same teams giving walkovers are completing leagues with no issue.... if clubs were to feel a knock on effect ( loss in ticket allocation/ loss of home advantage for next 2 years etc)

I understand the constraints some clubs are under, friday night and saturday games are the way to go but referees and ground suitability are what limits a lot of clubs.
does the branch or committee wait until its to late to modify?

A big thing is the scheduling, often some senior clubs are expected to field 4 teams in a weekend, 1XV 2XV 3XV and U20s, and then some weekends only one or two teams? Surely could be organised so that players aren't doubling up some weekends and then not playing other weekends.

How early do you play early rounds of junior cup though?
I think the leagues are a major issue with the season and structure and issues. Too many teams in divisions giving way more chance for teams with nothing to play for in league as cant get promoted/relegated.
this then gets junior cup easier as you can seed junior cup even more so,
I wouldnt always agree with loss in ticket/home advantage for not fielding in junior cup as often you can see senior second sides field in junior cup but not at all in latter points of seconds league
Up to clubs to look for more friday/saturday games. relatively few games in north munster at least on saturdays with just AIL, gleeson league and school friendlies by and large as rest will be sunday.

For most junior players these days the junior cup does not hold the same sense of reverence that it once had. The main focus is on the league. Even at that a lot of teams are struggling to maintain numbers.

It might be an idea to start looking at smaller division of maybe eight teams in each (play home and away - 14 games). Try look at a bit of regionalisation if possible with the top division not regionalised (best of the best)

It may also have a benefit for Junior Cup as this might create games between teams that don't play each other that often due to regionalised division and create some novelty.

Looking at the table, there now, it looks like Kanturk are on the verge of going down to Div 2.

Weren't they on the verge of going up to the AIL a few years ago?

They went up to AIL. Spent 3 seasons in bottom division of AIL 12th in 2B then 7th and 10th in 2C.
7th in first season back junior and this happens regularly with clubs who go down/back down junior. Dont have players to build team back up as team that got club senior was once in generational.
And its only junior league division2 its not like theyre going down to J2... which would be much worse
