On a wet day of March my wife and I decided to go to Galway for a little bit of good time a good pint and a nice lunch (seafood if possible).

A good pint was quickly found and dealt with, sea food on the other hand was surprisingly hard to encounter inside town, even that close to the sea side.

The lashing rain finally pushed us inside the Ard Bia near the Spanish Arch. The place had been recommended by someone at the tourist office but I have to say the term "organic restaurant" had turned me off.

I was obviously wrong, the place was busy and warm and displayed from fresh homemade bread and a quite appealing wine bar. The setup was also quite nice for such a small place giving both a feeling of activity and tranquillity.

The meal was up to the rest, fine wines along with beautifully baked piece of hake and its quite original chorizzo sauce, took any remaining doubt away. We also tasted original and fresh home-made deserts.

If you don't mind being called darling in front of your wife too often, this place is a must in Galway!
