Because junior clubs spend years deveopling and training good players and then YM come in CASH!! nothing else but cash.. How are junior clubs suppose to develop, move forward.. Some clubs dont want to pay players like ye..
Why not develop the players in your own underage structure and have them coming up the ranks then going off offering the world to junior players and then pissing off players that played with ye since 10s..
Very easily explained, as Superstar said Junior clubs spend a lot of time and effort developing their underage teams, with limited resources and player base, yet year on year many clubs, especially Richmond, churn out fantastic players who continue on to play at all levels because they are good enough. A quick scan through most Senior club starting XVs will have a few Richmond lads on it.
You then have to go look at Shannon or Garryowen who's first team is packed full of players who played underage elsewhere yet they have 300 minis turning up every weekend and underage success at all levels. It doesn’t add up.
Where do the Senior underage players go? No one can fault an ambitious Junior player to challenge himself and play at a higher level but where is the end result for the senior underage structure? Where is the development?
I don’t expect you to answer these question because even the Senior clubs YDOs wouldn’t be able to or wouldn’t want to from embarrassment
Im here to spread the word..common sense is not just for animals

Leamy joins Young Munster's coaching staff
1st Jul - 2012
By Aidan Corr
FORMER Munster and Ireland back-row Denis Leamy has joined Young Munster as assistant forwards coach. The 30-year-old, who sprung to prominence at senior schools level with Rockwell College, will be assisting the black and ambers' forwards coach John 'Pako' Fitzgerald at Clifford Park this coming season.
why are young munster called the cookies anyway?

I think, and this is my own opinion, that a lot of the underage suffer from burnout. The better players are playing schools, club at underage, and then when they get to the age of seniors, or seconds they have to train even harder. At this stage they are in college, drinking and doing all the regular **** we all did, so they can't commit to the 4 nights a week training and matches.
On the internet, you can be anything you want. It always amazes me why so many people choose to be stupid.
I was involved in the underage section of my Junior club for a fair few years and all clubs seemed to lose players when they hit 17/18. From my experience and speaking to coaches from other clubs, the main reasons seemed to be a mixture of Leaving Cert, choosing one sport to concentrate on rather than playing several, women and drink. Another factor was that a player could go from playing U18's to Seconds ( if the club had no U20's ) and this put another load of them off.

Young Munster vs Bruff - Pre-Season Friendly 7.15 in Tom Clifford.
Expect nothing friendly there!!
YM beat Bruff last night 22-5. Poor 1st half saw Bruff lead 5 nil. Bruff played with width and really made a mess of the YM breakdown. 2nd half say a different YM and after 5mins the YM fullback knocked on after a superb kick behind a dove for the ball, ref adjudged a knock on but a lot said try. YM's 10 went off injured and there 15 went outhalf and it sparked into life with there 13, 15, sub fullback and a backrower scored with the 15 playing at 10 scoring, controling and creating chances.
Was very scrappy start to season but conditions didn't help, torrential rain for the entire match led to several handling errors. Bruff looked capable of competing in 1B
Declan Bannon, looked a good footballer, some poor passing but was the one player you'd have picked out on the night in shocking conditions
Charity cup tonight @ 7.00 in Greenfields .. a good cause that needs support ..
How'd this one go?
We'll have to uncuff him and "de-dildo" him, obviously... Smash up the furniture like he was chasing you all rapey. Fortunately, he's Italian so that shouldn't be too hard to sell.

We made a balls of it, and that's something we've got to live with: Ronan O'Gara. (losing home HC record v Leicester)

IT is with regret that we record the unexpected death of one of Limerick rugby's greatest supporters, Noel Clohessy (Senior).
Noel passed away peacefully at the Regional Hospital this Thursday. Father of the legendary Peter Clohessy, Ger, Noel and Des as well as daughters Mags and Deirdre and beloved husband of Meg, Noel was a dedicated follower of Young Munster. Both Ger and Peter were members of the Young Munster team that won the All Ireland League in 1993 with Ger having the honour of lifting the cup as captain of the side that beat St Mary's College in Lansdowne Road in the final game. Noel followed the rugby fortunes of his boys throughout Ireland and was an ever-present at home and away fixtures when Peter starred with Munster in the Heineken Cup and Ireland at international level.
The late Noel Clohessy is also survived by family, brothers Johnny and Tony, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Griffin's Funeral Home, John's Gate on Friday evening, September 28th, from 4pm. Removal at 6pm to Monaleen Church. Funeral on Saturday after 12 noon Mass to Kilmurry Cemetery, Castletroy.
Marty in the Morning
2nds won 74 7 this morning against Shannon, match finished up 15mins early
Heard Shannon were very bad...
Shannon were very poor, sign of the current times i suppose. YM were extremely strong, they'd a backline to match AIL backlines. Shannon fell off a lot of tackles and some of the tries were following 3 or 4 broken tackles that shouldn't be missed. The most disappointing thing for me was the noticeable absence of any member the Shannon 1st coaching staff!! Very disappointing. Was happy to see the ref blow it up cause i've no doubt it would've been 100points or more and some of the shannon lads wouldn't deserve that. I really ope the club turns around and soon!!
availability of quality players is a big problem for clubs trying to field senior, seconds and 21 at present,YM backline of bannon ,o'connor and o'leary would be a first team lineup for most sen sides, shannons 21s played on sat and their backline is probably better than their 2nds
Very poor game in TP on Friday night. It's a poor reflection on how bad Shannon are at the moment, that Young Munster didn't even play that well, and still beat them easily. It's going to be a long year for the Shannon supporters.
Where's this new winger for YM from? Can't remember his name, but it looks French. He looks very quick.
We'll have to uncuff him and "de-dildo" him, obviously... Smash up the furniture like he was chasing you all rapey. Fortunately, he's Italian so that shouldn't be too hard to sell.
He is an English dude Captain. Played against Nenagh seconds last week and looked pretty good. Very quick with a good sidestep.

Add in Steve McAuley and Harry McNulty (Who recently joined after Munster 20s I Believe he played 13) and that backline wouldn't look outta place in 1B in fairness.
Don't think availability of players is an issue, i think its more interest. 21s have any aspirations of playing 1st should be playing 2nds to progress, regardless of a game the day before, SOL, Jake Considine and the Ryan triplets will do it every week because they wanna be involved. Feel that there may not be the push or pull from 1st to have 21s/1st replacements playing sunday rugby which they should be playing!
english lad. heard a couple of clubs had looked to sign him including nenagh, played against us alongside quinn mc donagh. very quick and very intelligent player from the talk, how he played.
SOL played 2nds all last season while considine has mainly played 2nds since moving to backrow from frontrow.
SOL, JC will start 2nds every week i imagine while itll depend on opposition etc whether any of the ryans start. the ryans are good but have a lot yet to learn about front row work at adult level
All should be playing as much as they can, saturday and sunday.
Every club should be looking to develop 1st team players from 21s through the 2nds league and Junior Cup, i heard that no Shannon 21s played for there 2nds against YM, i'd imagine they'd be asked to but from word around some (and this only counts for a minority) feel their instantly above 2nds without ever playing a senior fixture!
