AFAIK What ever is on itunes will be the same on both ipods. If you want different songs on either ipods you need to create a second itunes.
    Love Poem

    Beyond watching eyes
    With sweet and tender kisses
Our souls reached out to each other
    In breathless wonder

    And when I awoke
From a vast and smiling peace
I found you bathed in morning light
    Quietly studying
All the messages on my phone

The songs from the iTunes music library will be synced to both iPods.

Check the settings on the ipod and itunes, and click to manually update if you want to use two ipods off the same itunes.
It is useless to attempt to reason a man out of a thing he was never reasoned into.

Every plan I have is the best plan in the room. Everybody get quiet and listen to it, and everybody will win

As Joey suggests, use manual updates (it does mean creating specific folders within iTunes foreach ipod) and you can use several on the one machine, no issue.

Apple made it as difficult as possible. When music is put onto an iPod, its given a four letter name, AAAA, SDFE, etc. it is possible to cut and paste music from your iPods music control folder but again, Apple made it as difficult as possible by giving the iPod fifty control folders.

Its not a lot of fun trawling through them believe me. Probably quicker to just upload all over again I'm afraid.
The trick is getting to the second set of horses.

That is the case if you want to take the music off the iPod itself. Easy
to copy music folders on the computer. Check out the link I posted
    earlier.

To get music off an iPod itself I use a piece of software called iPod
Viewer. I have a Mac but there are several pieces of software
available for Windows machines too. The file names come off intact
    too.
