Goes a Bob-Bob Bobbin' Along, along
There'll be no more sobbin' when he starts throbbin' his old sweet song
Wake up, wake up you sleepy head
Get up, get out of bed
Cheer up, cheer up the sun is red
Live, love, laugh and be happy
What if I were blue, now I'm walking through, walking through the fields of flowers
Rain may glisten but still I listen for hours and hours
I'm just a kid again doing what I did again, singing a song

Thanks SG and Corker, might drop in to see the game. I hope it's better than last weeks at Dooradoyle. The most impressive thing on display that day was the Audi R8.

As for the game last saturday, Shannon need to settle down and stop
trying to force things. They were lucky to win and while Garryowen
weren't great they created far more chance but failed to take them
(missing all those kicks at goal was criminal). Tadhg Bennet needs to
take more control and the older players need to let him. He rushed a
number of kicks and dropouts and looked a little indecisive at times.
He did do some clever things too and in time could be a very handy
player. Sean Cronin had terrible game from touch, his lineouts were
very poor. Also the pack only seemed to turn it on when thety were
under serious pressure (Pushing Garryowen off their own ball wa a
highlight of the second half). Still a win is a win and against
Garryowen you wouldn't argue about how you got it as long as
bragging rights are yours!!
Hopefully consistency will come as the season progresses. Bohs will
possibly be a sterner challenge than Garryowen up front so the
lineout needs to fire and the forwards need to commit to rucks
legally, not many teams will miss kickable penalties as Garryowen
did on Saturday.

From the Shannon Rugby Bebo Supporters Club:
Hi all,
The away support for the team on Saturday was tremendous, and maybe its changing back to the good ol' days when we have tons of support but obviously we are not going to have thousands attending matches like we used to...but it is appreciated.
And as I sat on the bus as a supporter, you have no idea, how much the support , means for the team and the club as a whole, as Tadhg Crowe gave a speech, thanking and congratulating each and every supporter on the bus. It just goes to show how much AIL clubs really appreciate their fans!
We left Thomond Park(no name change) at approx. 9.40 am, and made it up in Dublin for around 1.00 pm where we stopped in the Yacht for meal and a few drinks. One of the best meals I have tasted, and well worth my ten euro. I had the Southern fried chicken, while i heard that the bacon and cabbage was divine also.
Then back on the bus, me being the last on board, for the short trip to Castle Avenue, just about a mile down the road. And it eventually started pouring rain and with a sharp east win blowing too, it didnt do much to dampen our spirits as we ran in fourtries, but the fourth was ruled out as we supposedly knocked it forward.
The one downer was when half time came around and we nipped in from the cold for a warm cup of tea, there was nobody serving the bar, well it looked that way and we had to head back out with no refreshments. But when the match ended 23-16 in Shannon's favour, the bar service was again appalling to say the least, but eventually after much criticism we got served, by probably the only bar staff that was doing any work.
Back on the bus at roughly 5 with an extra passenger Mick McLoughlin, so the atmosphere was great on the way home, and it never really kicked off until after the final furlong. We then stopped in Ballybrittas for a few drinks and a bite to eat with the team. Great food and laughter was had here, with culinary delights such as ham, ham and cheese sandwiches, onion rings and cocktail sausages. There is an Isle was also ringing around the pub as we downed our pints and headed back on the bus, with a few young men getting autographs from the players.
On the bus again and continued with our journey, when our MC Tom was the host/presenter of the show, with appearances from Frank O'Flynn, "Bosco" and Leanne making the trip home an enjoyable one! The bus then arriving home(thanks Vargas) in Limerick at approx. 10 pm

Sounds like a good day was had by all...good to hear....people forget the craic that can be had on the club trips........Clontarf usually have the bar open, surprsied to hear you didnt get a good experience there...even when we play junior games out there they open it up....
Jay, the bar was open but the service was s**te, and at half time, there was no-one serving. Guess that was the only gripe to be had with the trip.

Shannon On Top after Wet and Windy Dublin Win.
Clontarf 16 Shannon 23
In a wet, windy and altogether miserable Castle Avenue in Clontarf, Shannon maintained their impressive start to the AIB league campaign with a well orchestrated and convincing win over the North Dublin club. Although 23-16 may not imply an emphatic victory, it was only in the last 5 minutes that Clontarf crossed the Shannon try line to give them an outside chance to claim the spoils. There was very little in the previous 75 minutes of action would have suggested that they were capable of such an outcome and indeed had Shannon taken a couple of real try scoring opportunities , especially in the first half , the day could have borne a bonus point win. Shannon are pragmatic however, and are more than content with four wins from four games against difficult opposition.
As early as the sixth minute they came close to crossing the white wash, but a try saving tackle on Stephen Kelly prevented a certain try. It was a lively start in difficult conditions but the home side settled and were in front after Ian Keatley landed the first of his three penalties in the 16th minute. Andrew Thompson soon responded with a penalty of his own and Shannon were happily controlling the pace of the game. Some hard tackling by John Clogan prevented Clontarf gaining any sort of foothold beyond the gain line and with Mossy Lawlor and Tadgh Bennett pinning them back at regular intervals with some astute tactical kicking, their task was made all the more difficult.
Shannon’s opening try came when Clontarf‘s Peter O’Brien sent a wayward clearance in the direction of Mossy Lawlor. The full back needs no second invitation to counter attack and he gained 10 meters before off loading to Andrew Thompson who in turn set Stephen Kelly on his way from the halfway line. The winger chipped ahead and won the race despite a slight tug in a clear indication of his speed. Thompson failed to add the conversion but the 8-3 lead was no more than Shannon deserved.
It should have been increased minutes later when a couple of try scoring opportunities were spurned in quick succession, and then a Tadgh Bennett drop goal attempt drifted wide of the posts at a time Shannon should have turned the screw. The extension of their lead came when Thompson landed a 36th minute penalty but just before the halftime whistle , Clontarf had their best chance to get a try, however Shannon’s impressive defence held them out on two occasions.
The momentum gained from that foray was maintained as the second half began. Keatley knocked over another penalty after his side threw a forward pass with a clear run to the line. It was to be a crucial ten minute period. From being in a position to close the gap, Clontarf were soon staring at a 17 point deficit. A high up and under by Tadgh Bennett gave Clontarf’s Derek Keane a tough task to make the catch. He failed, and from the loose ball, Sean Cronin hacked ahead and raced to the line to get the touch down.
It was to get worse for the home side when John Clogan benefited from tremendous work by Les Hogan who ripped the ball from a forward moving Clontarf maul. Cronin was again involved in the movement as Clontarf were caught flat footed from the turn over. Thompson converted and it was all set for a minimum four try victory for the visitors.
It didn’t materialise, not because Shannon took the foot of the pedal, but it was more to do with Clontarf’s admirable attitude. They chipped away at the lead when Keatley scored another penalty in the 56th minute and as the clock ran down they mauled their way over the Shannon line from a 5 meter lineout in the 75th minute. Replacement Dave O’Brien was credited with the score as it was he that came up from the mass of bodies with the ball in his hand. It was a little nervy for Shannon in the final minutes despite holding tough in Clontarf’
