This is a regular occurance for me, I've lost track of the number of work parties I've ditched because of clashes with Munster games. So much so when they decided to turn one of the conference rooms here into a "munster room" I was the one pinged to find out where they could find appropriate wall-papering ! So we now have a room with 2 walls with enormous pictures from the All blacks match & the HEC final in 2008. Oh yeah and POC got a moustache added in the pictures last year for Mo-vember.

Also TFOA was not as noticable (thank god). Maybe the new Munster will also mean the end of the dirge . .

Cara was missed yesterday. She has a way with the crowd and gets us flyin'.

It seemed that SUAF was in a slightly lower key - the higher notes towards the end didn't seem as climactic!

Great to see that Cara and her alley cats were nowhere to be seen yesterday.

I'm sure the Shanners brigade were crying into their White Lightening at the lack of that gay anthem SUAF.

Thank fup any idiot who tried to start up that knacker doggeral TFOA were roundly ignored. Up in the centre of the WS you could hear a pin drop.

Great to see a true legend - David Rusida - rather than a liigind - John Hayes - rightly appreciated by the crowd at ht.

Twas also gr8 to see the blitz' back and end to those benefit scrounging pseudo Damien Dempsey types belting out a choon at ht.

Many great points there and impeccably argued. How do you maintain your continuous positivity?

The original song is written for a baritone, what we heard was the way it is actually supposed to be a sung.

Good point. And so also with the original Toreador song in Carmen - I've checked. However, both are intended to be 'rousing' numbers, and in this regard, Cara does a great job. And she's a great Munster fan. Maybe yesterday the crowd weren't as up for it as normal.

It wasn't just the kick-off time - on Easter Sunday, the song was absolutely blasted out.

I don't really see much of it anymore as I've taken to using the ignore function in the last few months. First forum I've had to use it on, unfortunately.

Just wum straight and hard through the middle for God's sake. Back when I lurked here you'd see good trolls, honest trolls wumbling around the fringes. Those were the days. This McGahanwumming is the drizzling sh!ts.

We'll have to uncuff him and "de-dildo" him, obviously... Smash up the furniture like he was chasing you all rapey. Fortunately, he's Italian so that shouldn't be too hard to sell.

I thought yer man did a very good job and like others have said ,it gives a better delivery of the song as it should be sung.

Taz-Where did you get that information as I have seen nowhere that he(Penney) was ruled out?
Editor - The writer stands by the Penney information.

    - This article originally said Rob Penney had missed out on the Munster coaching job. That information was incorrect.

I have to say that I felt that was a return to the halcyon days of wummery, a real 'Old Thomond' wum, the sort that established this forum as the home of pride and wummery.

He got in there after the whistle had gone, grabbed the thread by the collar and wummed the sh*t out of it, making a real scary face. That's the sort of wumming that had Bob Dwyer misting up his spectacles with the hot tears of defeat back in 1992.

One thing I found to be different, and was a bit disappointed by it, was that they didn't play the heart-beat while waiting for the teams to come out. Always love that bit, lets hope it's not a permanent change!

Have to say, the polite applause for the visiting team and then deathly silence, as they are left out there all alone, and left there, and left there in that same oppressive silence. THEN BOOM! 26K of rabid screaming. Munster are here now and you're a long long way from home visitors.

    Cant bate it.

I support Red Sox myself and I agree that we don't want/need popcorn and hotdog sellers patroling the stands in TP, but I genuinely do like that heartbeat.

I went to Wrigley a few years ago and had a great evening out. Comfortable seat, two from the aisle,a nice man patrolling said aisle selling me beer, but the highlight was during the Seventh Inning stretch witnessing the efficient way that one can get into and out of the Loo. It's a One-way system. One goes in through one of four doors and is directed to a long corridor with a urinal on each side. Having done one's business one continues along and finds oneself back out in the concourse.
