    Dear Mr Penny

    Well done munster

Mr penny i hope you seen today what munster is all about (in my opinion).
Let the pack do what has to be done,if that does not work (which i doubt) let the running game begin.
I thought we were like headless chickens today in the first half going all over the place and still going no place.
Get back to the good old munster rugby.

Bad spelling apparently. Could posters at least do our coach the courtesy of getting his name correct?

ifeel positive... especially with the age of our squad.. so young..

people need to see the reaction when a try was scored....
total celebration... that is incredibly important..

Nice work on the spelling clogs. Any hope you'd raise the bar on punctuation next?

So, this is a letter stating you are unhappy with the current Munster gameplan, yet you took on too many pints because you were so happy with the result?

I thought that with McGahan gone, we saw the end of this lateral ****e. The space to spread it wide will only come after a few pick and go's sucking the defenders in. Simple!

Are you talking about the rugby or the thread?
    I must not fear.
    Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
    I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
    Only I will remain

I thought our first 20 minutes was excellent. We went wide but there was plenty of inventive stuff, passes behind the first line of runners, the likes of Kilcoyne taking it up through the middle, and an excellent cross field kick by Keatley. We created a couple of overlaps but didn't use them particularly well. Again, its still October, the execution will come. We did create space out wide, we just didn't use it particularly well.

The last 10 was spot on, but again it was as close to Penney's style of play as it was to this "old" Munster idea. For Dougall's try, we made it out of our 22 after a couple of phases and good link up play between our outhalf and a backrow in midfield. In the lead up to Varley's try, again we worked numbers to put Hurley through a gap in midfield.

We've dropped the intensity a few times before this season (Treviso, Dragons, Leinster, last week) and we do look incredibly lateral when that happens. But Penney's game is a million miles ahead of what we were doing last season. We need to play it for the full 80.

You have to admit the idea of our second row enforcers butchering overlaps out on the wing is new!
But seriousily our back play,, with the amount of possession we had was worying. Too many passes were to a man standing still .Downey only came on to one ball at pace and took out about 3 defenders ,if we sent hurley and himself up hard, close in, the game would have been over by half time. How many clean breaks did we manage with 80% possession? Munster backs for as far back as i can remember dont convert a great percentage of clear chances ,and now we expect our fordwards to have the skills to run them in......should make for great times if it falls into place.
Our new management got lesson no.1 in tralee, but did not take note so lets hope the video of yesterday wont be on fast fordward.
