Not sure where people meet before the game, but if they're around Friday or Saturday night, would recommend this place highly:

A really good spot for food and wine before the game is terminus nord in front of gare de nord. A big favourite of provincial supporters before the international games. Classic French brasserie. Sign up for the loyalty program and you get 20% off.

There is also a good basque bar/restaurant around the corner. O Beret basque.

Near Moulin Rouge (Which is distinctevely painted Munster Red for the weekend) there are three great Irish Pubs. These are: O'Sullivans, Corcoran's, and The Harp. Had a great time there during HCup final 2010. Also opposite to these bars there is one of the biggest Rugby stores of Paris. It's about 2km from gare de nord.

It now appears that I will be able to go. Somewhere around Boulevard St. Michel or Boulevard St. Germain would be good for Friday evening. Corcoran's sounds good.

There are a few pubs in paris called like that so we need to get our logistics right.

Yeah, I can recommend this one - aside from the fact that it's around the corner from my hotel, it's a great pub.

Prior to the 2007 RWC game between Ireland and Argentina a group of Munsterfans with a few spouses in tow met up for lunch in Le Suffren. The only mistake we made that day was we left the restaurant to go to the game.

Maybe we should do something similar?

Remember that game. The stadium ( Parc des Princes) was the highlight - mainly due to the memories from a faint rte commentary albeit heavy losses.

A group of us went to Chartier. - ok food but bottles of cote de Rhone for 7 euro more than made up for it.

It's been a year or so since I was there but a pint can cost anything between €5 and €8.

Wine is far cheaper. Beer is I think around a fiver a pint for happy hour, 7.50 or there abouts outside it.

  22. #20
    €7.50?! Thievin' French bastards.

    Sorry Oz.
Governments don't ask themselves "what can we do that is good for the people?". They ask themselves "how do we persuade people that what we want to do is good for them?".

    Take that Balla, you Madridist.......
He was as lame as a duck. Not the metaphorical lame duck either, but a real duck that was actually lame. Maybe from stepping on a land mine or something.

Just noticed you can go into Corcoran's on Google Streetview. It looks to be from July 2011, judging by the TV schedule down the far end of the bar.

From looking around at the posters, you can get a 1.5l jug of Kronenberg for €16. There's also a price list behind the bar, here's some samples: Pint of Guinness €7, Kilkenny (Smithwicks) €6.70, Carlsberg €6.50, Kronenberg €6.50, Cider is €7. I don't see a pricelist for wine.

No point in going to Gare Du Nord when Place de Clichy is 5 minutes walk away and on line 13 which will bring you straight to the ground ?
Two other good French Rugby bars I like are O Sud Ouest on Avenue Neil (M Ternes ) or l'etoile d'argent on Rue Fauborg. (M Argentine). Change at Place de Cichy if departing from Ternes and Champs Elyees Clemenceau from Argentine.
Try Bofinger for dinner some night (M Bastille)

Corcorans would make sense, next to Metro Place de Clichy, which is on Ligne 13 iirc.

The match kicks off at 14.35 which screws that up really, timewise.

    Other restaurants around Corcorans are

    - Clichy's Tavern, fills a gap - not bad. They have an upstairs section as well.

    - Flunch....for those on a budget

    - Next to Clichy's Tavern is a Panini/Crepes/Pizza place and tasty it is too

Up Rue Cavolotti/Rue Forest is Le Perroquet Vert and Le Bouclard....a la carte is pricey but they do have Menus of the Day...good food.

    - On Place de Clichy, Petit Bofinger and Le Bistrot Melrose.

Other places just past Monmarte Cemetery

A really great creperie, Lepic Assiette at 39 Rue Lepic and an excellent italian La Rughetta at 41 Rue Lepic.

With that kick off time it really is one or the other I.e a good lunch or pints. I will go the lunch route with pints after - gare de nord area has better options food wise.

So where are we going for lunch before the game?

I would like someplace where I can have fish soup, scallops and tarte tatin.
