In all seriousness, it would be Sexton for me if the brains trust decide POC's injuries are too much of an issue.

Heard a rumour that Heaslip is particularly unpopular with the Munster boys. POC allegedly is quoted as saying that he will never retire if there is a chance Heaslip is made captain. Source is pretty good but not sure I believe it but in any event if it is true the Sexyboy it is.

The injuries again make a mockery out of this player welfare system we operate.

Head coaches of clubs are the best people to decide when players are fit and should play.

Kidney's team has been depressing to watch for the last 3 years (Aus game in RWC excepted)

So we are potentially without SOB,Healy,BOD,POC,Kearney,Earls?

    (6 of our best players)

To cap it all off, Heaslip could be set to get the captaincy.(Enough to make you puke)
"That's what's difficult. You know that O'Connell is going to be the one that will jump for the ball but you still don't manage to steal it. It's kind of annoying

"I talked about it with the Toulouse players, my final in 2006 and theirs in 2008 against Munster. I was marking Paul O'Connell and they were man-marking him too. We knew he was going to jump. But I remember I was in really good condition, with a good lift, but every time I just missed it."

Every player currently injured got injured in club games. BOD played on the ankle he rolled against Munster and now needs surgery.

Would hate to see that partnership but not because I think either of them isn't a good player. D'Arcy's in fine form and McFadden is a good 12 imo. I just don't see either of them at 13.

Would like to see D'Arcy/Earls against the Boks, McFadden/Earls against the Argies and Marshall/Cave against Fiji.

My point is that they should be deciding when/how to keep guys fresh. The player mgmt. system hasn't done the likes of ROG and Earls any favours before these upcoming tests, both are lacking in gametime - not helped by missing all the preseason and early rabo games due to the system.

This system is a one shoe fits all, some players openly admit that the more games they play the better/sharper they become.
TOL said as much recently. POC has always said it.

Alot of our first team will have less than a handful of games played this season before we play the battle hardened Boks - 5/6 of our best players will also miss the game due to injuries.

Yea I would love to see Luke Marshall given a run. No personnal grief with Darce, I just think it might be time we looked to the future.
And good point, McFadden could also be a very decent option at 12.

The BOKS are at a season end though - we're starting ours in awful shape.
It's so bad that even Houdini might get the captaincy.

It involves breaches in the space-time continuum, Wally and Fla from 2006, a De Lorean, and a KC's burger with Donkey Forde's chips. But I can't give away more details.

From the interview in the Irish Times, I'm not sure he'd be made captain of Leinster, let alone Ireland.

Sexton has a bit of a “rep” for being, how shall we put this, a little argumentative, notably with team-mates. As usual when you meet such a good-humoured, intelligent lad, you wonder how this could be so. At Riverview, he holds the door open for anybody within walking distance, politely orders his club sandwich, and nibbles on it while letting it go cold. But on the pitch or at training, he’s different.

“Well, I probably do argue, but it’s my job. I have to know what Joe wants most of all. I’m the guy on the pitch who decides which move we pull out at which time. Obviously messages come on but I have to try to organise, and sometimes that ends in arguments. I don’t like it. I end up going home thinking ‘I had an argument with him’ and I regret it. And I lose sleep over it. But it’s work and I don’t really argue with people away from rugby; I would be quite different away from rugby.

“There’s a bit of a switch that goes off,” he admits with a wry chuckle. “Even in training, I lose it a bit. It’s something I’m trying to control a bit, to be honest with you. I do agree that I probably have to temper it a little bit in terms of the way I do it. I’ve had some discussions with other players about how I go about that. Not everyone is perfect and sometimes I get my point across in the wrong way at times, but I think I’m getting better at it, with age.”

Utter nonsense. McFadden & Earls are both centres and not only that but McFadden is a 12 and Earls is a 13. Earls is versatile enough to cover wing & possibly even full back in an emergency. McFadden has proven beyond all reasonable doubt that he isn't the long lost relation of an INTL winger. Let's stop pretending he's not a center.
