So! 2 wins from 2. Some put their hands up, internationals returning, wonder what team we shall see.
My only concern is young Dougall has played the entirety of both matches, will he be rested for this one ( a juicy one for him personally )

good win for Ulster tonight

Yeah they look good to me. Will be an interesting game
I realised I was dyslexic when I went to a toga party dressed as a goat
POM and Ryan are still out this week and POC is still injured so I'm going with:
Wian
Sherry
BJ
DOC
Holland
DOC2.0
Dougall
Coughlan
Murray
Keatley
LOD
Downey
Laulala
Dougie
Hurley
Varley
Killer
Archer
Foley
TOD
Williams
Earls
ROG
Not a whole lot of change as with the last two games Id imagine, good chance for Keatley to play with Murray and Id expect ROG and Williams to come on around the same time. The way things are at the moment how can you drop any of the outside backs? Earls to come on for Laulala around 55min mark or you could see him coming in for Hurley with LOD to 15 or for LOD himself as a straight swap. Its a great problem for Penney to have but not a decision Id like to be making, Zebo loses out on this one but likely to play the one after. Headaches all around.
With Robs intent to make full use of the bench I'd be inclined to think we'd see one or two changes to the 15 again but a host of changes to the subs.
Wian Sherry BJ
Doc Dutchy
Butler Callin Dougaay
Murr Keats
Luke Downey KC Dougie
Dinny
Killer Varl Archie (Foley Beta) (Ryan Pom) Williams Rog Keet.

I think there is plenty of time for Strings yet this season and he will be called upon, but at nearly 35 he may not be a long term option for us, Williams needs the exposure to situations like Ravinhell if he's going to be No. 2 long term. Plus I thought he had improved week on week and form deserves rewarding.
Similarly with Beta, he looked a little ring rusty on Friday night but there's feck all between them. Butler just has a little more adaptability and move to 8 when we were making substitutions.
I'm trying not to envisage a pecking order this season when it comes to the Rabpro, mainly due to the fact that we now use all our subs all the time. Everyone is getting time on the field and nobody is being driven into the ground. When is Niall Ronan due back??
I am the million man.
With the B&I Cup on the same weekends as the Heineken, there will be no overlap between the squads. I can see Stringer being the bench option for the HEC, while Williams gets game-time for the As. It makes sense to see what level Williams has reached and to give him more experience at the start of the season, though he might not play much part in the bigger games.
I assume there were no complications with Mrs DOC and Donnacha is available for the trip up North? Great credit has to go to Billy Holland and Dave Foley for doing so well on friday but Muller and Stevenson are playing well for the Nordies and I think DOC's experience will be vital this friday.
well looka
OK, I'll suspend your death sentence pending medical analysis.

The problem with Strings is that as good a scrum half as he is, he doesn't fit into RPs style of play. Obviously quick ball is great but he is far too predictable, kicks badly and too often and doesn't have the running threat that RP is looking for from his 9. RPs game plan will suit Murray down to the ground and I think with a run of games it will be the same for Williams once he finds his feet and gains a bit more confidence. I think the sub 9 spot in the HEC will come down to how comfortable Williams is by then but also depending on the opposition. Unlike other years I think we are going to see a 'horses for courses' approach to the 23, the starting XV might not change a lot but I think the bench will be changing. If I was RP Id have Williams benching this week in the Rabo game and bring him on to help him forget the absolute nightmare he had up there last year and gain that extra bit of confidence in his ability.
I'd actually like to see as close to first choice as is available, with Williams and Keatley maintained at half back, with ROG & Murray on the bench. Neither has seen a lot of first team action when we're at full strength, and I'd like to see what they can offer, when we're as close to full strength as possible.
We'll have to uncuff him and "de-dildo" him, obviously... Smash up the furniture like he was chasing you all rapey. Fortunately, he's Italian so that shouldn't be too hard to sell.
The Munster U-19s won up there last weekend.
Victory For Under 19 Side In Belfast
8 September 2012, 8:17 pm
By Olan Allen
Munster started their Under 19 Interprovincial campaign with a hard earned victory over Ulster at Ravenhill.
Ulster 10, Munster 13
Munster made the long trip to Belfast a winning one when they came from behind to defeat the home side.
The visitors were very poor in the opening half and trailed 10-3 at half time with David Johnston kicking a penalty for Munster.
The visitors improved in the second half and drew level with a try from substitute Greg Barry which Johnston converted. Johnston kicked a second penalty to put Munster ahead and they held out for a deserved victory. Next up for Munster is a home game against Leinster at Dooradoyle next Friday with a 6.30 kick off.
Munster: David Johnston (Rockwell); Cillian Ansbro (Youghal), Dan Goggin (St. Munchin's), Ned Hodson (Midleton College), Cormac O'Donnell (St. Munchin's); Shane Airey ( St. Munchin's), Ryan Foley (CBC); Rory Burke (CBC), Ben Burns (Castletroy), Charlie Slowey (CBC); Lee Nicholas (St. Munchin's), Darragh Moloney (CBC): Diarmuid Dee (Crescent Comp.), Oisin O'Mara (Kilfeacle), Sonny Dwyer (Rockwell) Capt.
Replacements: Liam Cronin (Castletroy), Aidan Slattery (PBC), Conor Glynn (Ard Scoil Ris), Patrick Kearns (Ard Scoil Ris), Jack Dineen (Crescent Comp), Aaron Atkinson (Garryowen), Greg Barry (Crescent Comp), JJ McDonnell (Castletroy).
Munster A play Ulster A friday at 2.30
No venue yet
Presume squad to be announced same time as squad for pro 12 game?
Earls will be the most interesting selection. Depending on where he plays we may see what Penney considers to be our best bck line. I presume D. Ryan is not available??
My hair is more important than timekeeping!

Dougie at fullback? Hmmmm. Wasn't a fan of him there when we tried that a few years ago.
We'll have to uncuff him and "de-dildo" him, obviously... Smash up the furniture like he was chasing you all rapey. Fortunately, he's Italian so that shouldn't be too hard to sell.
We have someone with a very serious claim to be in the top ten wingers ever to play the game, the highest-scoring All Black winger ever, who is playing like someone five years younger, and leading by example.
You do NOT move that sort of weaponry out of position to try and avoid making a decision on dropping another player, impressive though he is. He wants the slot on the wing, let him unequivocally take it.
Vorsprung durch Pfennig.
I normally agree with that sentiment.
But I do think a back three of Zebo / Earls & Dougie would be better than any of those two and Hurley. That's why I suggested Dougie to FB. The other way, would be to play Earls at FB. He has played very well there for the Lions and for Ireland.
Hurley is a good solid player for us, but that's as far as he goes.

Agreed. He's a better scrummager than a kicker. FB is a specialist position, part of the decision-making spine of the team, and not one to be treated as a catch-all to shove people into to avoid making tough selection decisions.
On another note, could we please change the thread title? The thought of tussling with Big-Al or Jackie Brown's todgers is a bit much for a Monday lunchtime...
