    Saracens v Munster - Team Named #377

Googled Saracens v Munster this morning and it returned a link from Sky Sports, which indicates that the match is fixed for Vicarage Road on Dec 16th at 3pm. When I look at the Saracens and Munster sites it still says TBA. Does anyone know if Vicarage road has been confirmed as the venue?

According to numerous threads on this site, this one for example, the game will be at "a central London venue"

Should be able to get trains from Gatwick, Stanstead or Luton with maybe one or 2 changes to Watford Junction which is about a 20 minute walk away

According to Wikipedia, the capacity at Vicarage Road is only 17,477. I would have thought Saracens would move it to a bigger ground. The ground is still listed as "TBC" on the Saracens website.

Watford is not what you would call central London!

According to Watford FCs site, they are playing away to Burnley the day before so its a possibility he ground will be free over that weekend for the match.

Yeah, it is about a mile from Watford Junction to Vicarage Road.

If you can get to Watford High Street station (on the Overground line) it is much closer to Vicarage Road.

Vic Road would be way too small for Saracen's ambition. Fine for the Aviva. I got a feeling the Emirates maybe on the agenda for one of their games in not too distant. Hosting games in 2015 WC

Just thinking about it logically, its probably listed on SKY at the moment as being played at Vicarage Road as that's their current home ground, pending a presumed venue change to Wembley or where ever closer to the date.

As said above, Vicarage Road is quite small and they would get a far greater attendance at Wembley or Twickers. Considering as the London Borough of Barnet is going to be their home in the distant future, Wembley looks far more ideal to host the game with the aim to attract future supporters than being played Twickenham or the Emirates as its that bit closer to Barnet with better transport links.

As far as Sarries are concerned, one would imagine anyway, Munster are the big draw in the group and would get them a big crowd. I can't see them playing this match anywhere other than Wembley.

North London somewhere near Euston. Camden would be handy. If you feel like splashing out, the Marriott at St Pancreas is stunning.

So we are off to Vicarage Road where 17000 will be able to attend. In October 2010 Saracens brought Leinster and their massive army of supporters to the 90000 Wembley Stadium. 2 years ago London Irish brought Leinster and their massive army of supporters to HQ which holds 82000. London Irish brought us to the 24000 Majeski Stadium. Is there something I am missing here ?

You forgot to mention that the Madejski was far from full when we played London Irish.

Not sure anyone will be overly happy with Vicarage Rd and would agree with advice not to stay in Watford...

Can't say I blame Saracens - they are obviously taking the fixture seriously and don't want to hand us home-advantage in London, they know full well that the use of any larger stadium would just result in a majority for the Red Army. With the fixture at TP the week before they are looking to either save their chances (if lost in TP) or put away the group (if won). Saracens obviously fancy a crack at being European Champions - more commendable than their previous plans to move to Cape Town etc etc

Probably not, in the past I would have travelled to maybe two of the away pool games, but those days are gone, I think Edinburgh is probably the one I will make it to this time, assuming it won't cost crazy money.

True but I think one of the main reasons is getting tickets. We will probably get one ticket each. Many wouldnt travel on their own with one ticket. If it was in HQ or Wembley we could all bring the wife , the kids, the dog , next door's kids, etc. Of course it is just one week before Christmas and times are now different. Remember one of last games in TP tickets were actually on sale before the game. So maybe Vicarage Road is the correct choice as I dont think the wife, the kids, the dog , next door's kids, would fancy a weekend in London in cold December.
