Wow whoever wrote that was seriously impressed by Ryan all right! Great news for Munster though that he's firstly playing tight head, I feared that he would be playing LH for Irish but the fact hes playing 3 and playing it well is brilliant. If he continues this way then Archer will really have to step up, although he has been much better so far and his scrum technique seems to have improved, his back isnt bent any more! Imagine, there could actually be life after BJ, Irish qualified life at that, and two of them! Thats the stuff dreams are made of!

From the Dead Site: Prop John Ryan returned from his successful stint with London Irish and resumed training today with a view to being involved in the A game (Garryowen FC) on Thursday

John Ryan going to London Irish on a short-term loan

So hopefully if we plan this right the departure of BJ might be less catastrophic than we feared!!

Tide is turning on the prop drought hopefully!

He is back to be available for our European squad if required.

Very handy! Hopefully he'll get some game time at HEC level and continue his form to date while still learning and developing.

I was hoping he'd get a few more games with London Irish to keep getting game time. I cant see him getting much game time here for now.

Yeah, he must be third choice tight head now. One injury and he'd be on the bench for the HEC. That's the way it is.

Would like to see him getting a bit of Rabo gametime soonish along with Archer. BJB needs just enough to be match fit and sharp.

London Irish must be pissed off with us (again) especially as their tight head got injured last week

Is there anything to suggest that we pulled him back as opposed to the terms of the loan deal being adhered to and the player returning as scheduled?

Presumably a home grown successor to Botha would free up a fair chunk of the payroll?

Indeed, but there is nothing to suggest either that we would get an NIQ next year either Balla. So sorting out the TH issue at Munster will become a priority. We need the likes of Archer,Condon+Ryan coming up to the required standard.

Did not the original announcement mention that Ryan would be returning before the HC as he is part of the squad? So I'd imagine his return to Munster is no surprise to London Irish.

Definitely - implication of the new regs is that we'd have to find an IQ tighthead once BJB's contract expires. Was just thinking that if we wanted to go out to market for a big name in the back row, centre or wherever that the cash would be there, as his successor is unlikely to get the same sort of terms on stepping up.

Get a young prop regular high-level gametime AND have him available should we need him.

Jesus, lads, we are finally, FINALLY, showing signs of getting our cuteness back!
