    Accumulator for the weekend?

    Dragons beat Zebre
    Ulster beat Warriors
    Ospreys beat Treviso
    Blues beat Connacht
    Leinster beat Scarlets

    Edinburgh beat Munster
I'd go the reverse on the highlighted.
We'll have to uncuff him and "de-dildo" him, obviously... Smash up the furniture like he was chasing you all rapey. Fortunately, he's Italian so that shouldn't be too hard to sell.

Of all the weekends to line up an accumulator, would this weekend not be considered the most erratic?

Tjhat's not the positive pro gambling attitude I was hoping from a right wing neo conservative site such as this one.

Ya, definitely noticed that. Filling out the training jersey better than he did last year that's for sure. The guy is tough as nails. Denis Leamy the second. We need a Tipp man in the backrow for a bit of balance!

Stringer is bigger even than his own immense shadow. Pound for pound, he is the best tackler in the world. If you put him into bag of cats he\'d come out without a scratch. He was hit very late for Murphy\'s try. And when he got up, as we knew he would, the crowd cried his name as if he had just fixed the economy.Billy Keane-After Munster\'s famous loss to the AB\'s.

I haven't seen much of JJ except for the U-20 WC but given the buzz about him around here, let's just say I'm very happy and relieved that Rob Penney(with his reputation for developing young talent) has taken the reigns at the time JJ will be making his step up.

Lord knows what Dumper and co. would have done with him

With all this talk of Williams crabbing at scrum half, taking steps etc I'd like to point out one thing in his defence.

2 of the best scrum halves in the world at the moment take even more steps than Williams and show how effective it can be with first up forward runners and having the ability to break themselves. Will Genia and Mike Phillips. Not saying Williams is near their level (personally I don't rate him at all), but taking steps and tying in defenders can be an effective tactic too if used correctly.

Absolutely. Knowing when to do it and being a genuine threat with ball in hand are two very important components of it being successful that Williams seems to lack. TOL in his prime pre-injury was very effective at it too.

I think Murray could be effective at it too. He's a strong ball carrier but at times looks like he doesn't back himself when he should. That will come though as he gains more experience. Strange the was scrum half play has gone full circle from the days of Joost to the small snipers like Gregan, Dawson, Blair and back to Phillips/TOL.

Ya, Murray is excellent at having a cut when he takes ball off the top of a lineout. Runs a very good arc. Very effective at times last season. It was an incredibly long year for him. From his breakthrough in the Magners Final, to the World Cup, and back to a full season, he had no time to sit back and appraise his game. He was trying to learn on the go and seemed to get stuck in a rut. He has had a well earned break and hopefully Mannix and Penney will bring the best out of him. Stringer should be a good influence on him too. If he can play like he did at times last year then a Lions call is not out of the question. I think it was Scarlets at home last year in the HEC, or maybe Castres, where he put on a masterclass in all facets. He was taken off after 60 for TOL and we nearly lost the game as a result.

    Edinburgh squad:
    Backs – G Tonks, T Brown, M Penn, L Jones, N De Luca, B Atiga, J Houston, T Visser, G Hunter, H Leonard, G Laidlaw, C Leck, R Rees; Forwards – A Jacobsen, J Yapp, R Ford, A Titterrell, G Cross, W Nel, G Gilchrist, R McAlpine, P Parker, S Cox, D Denton, R Rennie, R Grant, S McInally, D Basilaia.

Very strong squad. We don't stand a chance, unless there's been a miracle turnaround since last week.

As close as makes no difference to a full strength squad. We could put out a stronger 15 from the guys who won't start then the ones who will.

Tough game ahead but hopefully a few of the younger fringe players will get a chance and will show themselves in a good light

I actually think this will be a close enough game.
Edinburgh may shade it in the end, but it will be a lost closer than many think.

He'd have to have a top class season for sure, but I think it's possible. Is it 3 scrumhalves that go on a Lions?

    Phillips is obviously guaranteed.

Then you have Blair, Cussiter, Youngs, Reddan, and Dickson really. I think he'd have Blair, Reddan and Youngs on his day. That leaves a tough shoot out with Cussiter and Dickson. He'd have to play unreal though, but that's what i'm expecting he will do!

  35. #148
Blair and Cussiter are so cat they only wake up around a tin of Whiskas. Both have had the hype around them horribly exposed on Lions tours (in both cases, Stringer should have gone instead, but Manatee Jones had his full-on hype machine going to try and stop that). Youngs, maybe. Reddan, I doubt: he has never really shown anything of note at test level (cue the usual from the usual suspect). Murray has every chance of going.

Murray, Youngs and Phillips will be the three Lions scrumhalves, with Scumbag Phillips starting due to Gatland's natural bias. Agree with what has been said about Blair, Cusiter was a once-quality player who has been unfortunate with injuries.
