Not what I heard-heard all is not rosey in the garden up there. Struggling to field at 21s because they are being pulled for seconds/Juniors. Case of Senior team and the rest can go jump maybe??

  4. #64
and it was the worst young munster junior team i have ever seen last week got hammered 37 0 if u have a good senior team that should follow down to the junior so doesnt say much for the senior team does it

  5. #65
21s will be strong this yr, SOL, Ryan Triplets, a lot of lads for last yrs team still there. There are a lot of injuries and a some more new faces again this week. 2nds play g'owen monday, be a strong team fielded i'd imagine. 2nds backs are weak because of lads off wtih Munster u19/20

where the ryans brothers playing last week they got a serious lesson in scrumaging very poor need to learn alot

Prob is don't think they'll be togging out for the 21s-surely will be involved in Seniors. Haugh will prob start in front of Prendie, Darren Ryan will be in with a shout in the back row and SOL will be in the reckoning too if Willie has gone and GQMcD is out. Good senior squad definitely but think ye'll suffer at 21s.

Ryan lads are two converted second rows. A lot to learn but a lot of potential-they'll come good.

  9. #69
there not converted the match had to go to uncontested scrums last week they were going back so fast it was like they were jogging backwards wont be near the senior team

  10. #70
Richmond are a dominant scrummaging side, is a major learning curve for the young lads but they will come good being exposed to that, is a lesson learned. I think SOL will be playing 21s barring an injury to McDonagh, as will Darren Ryan, plenty of Backrows around with more experience and physicality. But is definitely one for the future. So as i said, with the triplets, SOL, Jake Considine the 21s will be strong

McD is injured, Darren Ryan will be senior as will Haugh and SOL. Gavin and Evan R will be rolled out for the 2nds/Juniors with the likes of Madden. SOL seriously ambitious kid and will want to push for senior inclusion. As I said if Willie S is gone, Shane will be senior. For that matter Jake will be pushing hard for senior panel too but at back row from what I hear.

McD is back for AIL 1st game, possibly next week if YM win. Darren will get game time but don't think he'd start ahead of Mark Rowley, Neville Melbourne or Luke Russell, probable starting backrow. Can see YM going 4 and 1 with a 9 on the bench rather than SOL. Shane should be involved, but can't see it happening for Shannon. Jake will get to see more senior rugby this yr but on occasions when injuries occur. Needs to trim down for no.8

I think a lot of teams- in Limerick city anyway- are relying on their 21`s to double up with the senior/2nds/3rds teams. YM wouldnt be alone in that.

All clubs should be like that and most are, esp in Limerick. 1sts and 21s play saturday, subs from 1sts and some 21s play sunday with 2nds.
other 21s play 3rds if they cant make 2nds whenever 3rds games are on and if they dont clash with 21s games.
On J Considine, always thought of him more as a front row but anytime ive seen him play Backrow he has been impressive

Was very unimpressed with YM team last sunday.. compared to the team that played richmond in May.. Ryan brothers were on the field but the scrum was a disaster... not sure how they will make a senior team if they cant hold their own scrum against a junior team...

21s will be strong. the 4 you mention are good strong players with potential to play senior in time.

They are 19. relax it was prob 1 of their first games of adult rugby considering they are just out of school. they are learning and especially if they are propping they will have plenty to get used to this season like full on scrums etc.

totally agree. they are young, talented and will get better and better the more they play at 21s and 2nds this season

theyre only young lads ffs. any games theyll have played this season will be the first games theyll ever have played where refs are not calling on tthe opposition to stop pushing after 1.5mtr. theyre talented and will improve with time

SOL will play plenty of 2nds as woll considine and the ryan triplets. considine and SOL looked more than comfortable at 2nds last year so hopefully for the 2 lads and munsters theyll be playing 1sts this year at some stage

Give them time and theyll be capable of playing senior. the game would have been one of their first where scrums are fully contestable. give them a few months and im sure theyll be close to playing senior

Total different team, probably 3/4 players involved in may involved on sunday, result didn't suprise, scoreline did. Young lad in front row have planty of yrs to learn and with the strong front row YM have their aren't many better places to be learning along with Paco being there to coach them along

Was up at the Highfield v Old Crescent match. Good game not much between the sides. Highfield pressed hard at the end but couldn't score. Old Crescent were well on top in 1st half and well deserved their 11-0 lead. Highfield shaded the second half. Good outing for both sides.

Lets hope Shannon members can keep their mouths shut this time and dont abuse Mr George Clancy if they dont get their own way on Friday Night.
