Was at the game, YM good value for the win. From recollection Garryowen didn't really threaten and the try they scored was an opportunistic one. I thought Munsters were by far the better side, much better organised. If Staunton is leaving as suggested he'll be a huge loss.

UL Bohs fully deserved that win, their back play was very crisp and inventive, and the difference between the teams. As in the case of the second half against Thomond, Shannon just lacked any on field leaders and imagination. Hopefully this can change or its going to be a very long Season. That said lots and lots of committment , and hope John Sherin is ok and that the trip to Hospital is purely a precaution, up to his injury at the stroke of half time he was one of the better performers, and played his heart out.

Jesus, has to be serious pressure on Keogh now. Will he be there for the start of the AIL?

You would have to imagine the committee in Shannon are thinking what have they done not giving the stalwart Mossy Lawlor the job.........clearly wanted it from words going around the ground yesterday. Can,t see how Keogh could possibly be retained, poor season last yr barely avoiding relegation and looks as if there on a downward spiral, be terrible for limerick rugby if they got relegated but if this continues into AIL it's hard to see where they'll pick up wins.

And now LOD will, probably, be kept involved with Munster setup they lack scoring threat outside of tadhg bennett's boot

Charity Cup Final YM vs ULB 2.30 Thomond Park

Can expect to see JJ, Darren Moroney, Dave Foley, SHenry and possibly TOD on the Bohs side from Munster and Alan Cotter on the YM side. Will make for an extremely intriguing contest and one tat will show if YM are gonna be as strong as in recent seasons and also to judge how fair ULB have come along in last 2yrs.

Mossy Lawlor out with Hamstring injury

cant see bohs losing this very good side and well drilled this year

Is bohs pack strong enough to out muscle YMs?? They can't be flashy without good ball!

    Cork Charity Cup final
Highfield 9 Dolphin 3 at halftime
    Limerick Charity Cup final
UL Bohs 15 Young Munster 0 halftime
Munsters tweeted that theyre lucky to be 15 behind

    Finished 18-11

Were very lucky only to be down by 15 at halftime. Kicked away a lot of ball in the first half while against the wind, very poor decisions. Had one decent break in 1st half. Bohs scored 2 easy tries, both through Tommy O Donnell.

2nd half YM started very quickly, scored almost instantly off the kickoff. Scored a penalty later on. Bohs kicked a pen to push them 7 clear and YM through a lot at them but couldn't get across.

If they could have spread the ball more on a couple of occasions they would have definitely scored once, had a 5 on 2 and kept it tight, need to develop to progress in AIL!

If anyone else was at it could they voice an opinion on Leo Colgan's refereeing of the breakdown, tackler releasing was a main issue i saw that he didn't ref! Gave Bohs replacement a yellow card for coming in at the side of a ruck, after some blatant professional infringements from Bohs backrow

All in all on after a strong 1st half showing and stellar defence combined with the worst performance i've seen from a black and amber jersey in the 1st half in many yrs! Bohs deserved there win

Simpson got stretchered off in second half, did alright throughout. Gar didn't get a run, was carrying a knock into the game, wasn't risked

the ref was very bad at the break down for both sides ben martin and tommy o donnell were very good bohs showed great defence in the last ten mins both the bohs wingers were good players always made yards when they got the ball young munsters back line very poor kept kicking away the ball

To be fair to te YM backline con man I think the YM backline didn't get the ball in space to do anything, all the kicking came from the halfbacks and after that boys got on the front foot

To be fair to bohs they could've been a lot further ahead from pens in first half had Leo reffed the breakdown more but similarly could've been less ahead if he reffed players going off there feet at the breakdown.

Ic this is next to HC standard every team is in trouble. Leo was awful at the key areas, scrum and breakdown

That was an awful game of rugby. Tommy O'Donnell really stood out in that game, he was physically so far ahead of everyone on the pitch, he dominated the game when he was on.
JJ was quite poor in that game, he may not be ready for the step up yet, afterall.
First time seeing Sheridan play too. Handy player, but doesn't seem to be very quick.

Willie Staunton infuriates me with some of his decision making.
Cotter still playing loosehead these days. Does anyone know what the thinking was behind that? He showed great potential as a tighthead.
We'll have to uncuff him and "de-dildo" him, obviously... Smash up the furniture like he was chasing you all rapey. Fortunately, he's Italian so that shouldn't be too hard to sell.

Decision making at halfback was poor. I think the aimless kicking was the most frustrating thing about the game. Giving Bohs counter attack ball that they are exceptionally good at.

TOD was so dominant!! Was a country mile clear of everyone else but you'd expect that from a Heineken Cup Openside. Without him Bohs backrow lacked power so need to pick up there because he won't be there this season realistically.

Ben Martin was very impressive at 15 for Bohs. Really played well. JJ wasn't anything special, kicked well out of hand but didn't really do much. Sheridan had the freedom of Thomond Park. Was waiting for a YM forward to hit him on or off the ball to let him know that he wouldn't have things his own way but never happened suprisingly!

His touch finders were very poor. No distance at all. I know there was a stiff breeze against him in the second half, but it was still very poor.

Nenagh Ormond play Ul Bohs in the first round of the senior cup on Saturday 2.30 in Nenagh. I wonder how many of the Munster boys will play, with the A game and Rabo on Friday?

Why would they arrange a friendly on the weekend of a team bonding session. I heard that there were only 8 players showed up for the game.

I know its only what I heard, but there have been a lot of rumors going around about Shannon lately, players leaving, training cancelled, not being able to field in Transfield Cup, and now a friendly being cancelled... there can't be smoke without some kind of fire??

A very good weekend to be playing Shannon, Dolphin, G'owen and Bohs wit Munster and the A's playing. A lot of the A team made up from those squads. Cons down a good few too but they normally have a massive squad to choose from.

Fixtures for the wkend: Munster Senior Cup

Bruff v Cashel, Kilballyowen Park, 2.30; Bruff win
Cork Constitution v Dolphin, Temple Hill, 2.30; Con win
Garryowen v Thomond, Dooradoyle, 2.30; G'owen to blow thomond away
Highfield v Old Crescent, Woodleigh Park, 2.30; Highfield to continue their impressive start
Midleton v Shannon, Towns Park, 2.30; Going with Midleton
Nenagh Ormond v U.L. Bohemian, Nenagh, 2.30; ULB win well
Sunday's Well v Clonakilty, Musgrave Park, 2.30; Clon in a close one
Young Munster v U.C.C., Clifford Park, 2.30; YM to win well

  31. #59
I think its a management issue more so than a money issue!! Falling out with players etc

  32. #60
