Thomond Hospitality Offer for Members for 2012/13 Season

    15 Aug 2012

    .

Munster Rugby has built a reputation in Thomond Park as having one of the finest standards of hospitality in Irish sport. Based on the first floor of the East Stand, the outstanding facility is matched by the quality of food, customer service, entertainment and tremendous atmosphere that hospitality guests enjoy. Yet many regulars to the hallowed ground have not experienced this facility. Now we want to change that and are offering you the opportunity to avail of special discounts for MRSC members which will make the hospitality even better value than it is recognised as being already.
Simply by quoting your membership number, members of Munster Rugby Supporters Club will be given extra discounts of all RaboDirect PRO12 games other than the home game versus Leinster.
You can either use your existing match seat or you can purchase a hospitality seat which is either a seat directly outside the Thomond Suite or a category A seat in the East Stand with easy access to the hospitality level.

    Thomond Suite Hospitality

    This package consists of;
    • access to the Suite 2 hours before a game and for 2 hours after the game
    • buffet meal and tea/coffee
    • live entertainment
    • access to the exclusive Thomond Suite bar
    • an opportunity to meet some of the Munster players after each game

With the hospitality match ticket - €60 to members - €70 to non members

Using your own match ticket - €25 to members - €30 to non members

Access to the Thomond Suite only, without food and using your own match ticket, - €10 to members - €20 to non members

    Executive Box Hospitality

This package is set for a group of 15, as there are 15 seats allocated directly outside each box. Prices are listed per person with 15 attending.

    The package consists of;
    • access to a private box 2 hours before and 1 hour after the game
    • 15 Category A match seats outside the box with exclusive access from the box
    • Choice of 1 course or 3 course meal served in the box
    • Complimentary match programmes

The 1 course meal option - €70 pp to members - €75 to non members

The 3 course meal option, (with wine) - €110 pp to members - €120 to non members

The hospitality package is not bad value - certainly for a small business taking out a few clients.

Two pints for a bit of stalking is a deal most of this board would snap up.

Those are damn good value packages.

hmm but the "opportunity to meet some of the munster players after each game" is false advertising... you get to see them eat their dinner & that's about it .. the players are cordened off from the public & do not mingle unless their own family/friends happen to be there.

I have taken the Exec boxes twice @ €975 and €1050 with no food, but in the last 2 seasons they got more expensive so never bothered.

It's a good night with a group of 15 and at that price with some nibbles would definitely consider it again, the Stephens night match is a good one to aim for. Leinster usually was €1500 with the EC games which was too pricey, is it included?

It would do no harm and would no doubt please some supporters if a few of the senior players who are not playing socialised and mingled in the MRSC Bar both before and after games.

In my experience, LL, the players have come out to meet the great unwashed at these events. I've been there a couple of times and met Dougie, POC, Fla, Johne, Donncha, Zebo etc

You do have to wait until they are fed and washed but if you want to meet them that's ok

I believe plans are in place to change that aspect of the Hospitality this year. I am told that the players will eat in a separate room after the game (proper order) and then will mingle.

To be fair, it's a bit surreal in there at times, I have been there when you have people lining up by cordone gawking at the players. Like feeding time at the zoo.

Yeah that was my feeling too Dumptruck. I even saw people after one game taking photos with zoom lenses of players eating food or with the players kids present etc which is really intrusive

Good idea to move the players somewhere else while their eating.

If so that's a change .. I didn't take hospitality at all last season because of what happened the previous season..

I was there at the L Irish friendly pre-season (freebie) and was also at the hospitality for the Ospreys game and it happened at both of them. I was there once or twice in other seasons and always met a few players if you were willing to hang around

    By the Bar....
When living in SW London I had the happy occurrence to go to a lot of home Harlequins games with Babs..... (where is she by the way).....

The players would eat underneath the new stand at the end of the bar, while fans would wander in and out from the pitch area drinking, or watching the band play.....

    all very relaxed....

You use facilities before and after the match, but during the match you go to your normal seat/terrace spot?

Why cant they just be left alone? They do lots of public appearnces in clubs across the province, go down to your local club next time they are around and ask them to sign your favourite stalking binoculars.

They are professional sportsmen and get well paid. Why should they be left alone on match day if they are not involved in the match day squad? When I go to Thomond Park I usually bring my daughter and her pal and they would like to get the odd autograph or picture. However the days of kids running onto the pitch to get autographs and photos is sadly over so it would be nice if the odd senior player would grace the MRSC bar. Apart from that there are plenty of not so young supporters who would welcome an opportunity to meet players on match day.You can label them as stalkers or whatever but they pay their money and are as a group very significant contributors to the finances of Munster Rugby.
