I think I'll have to get all my match updates like this from now on. Even when we're getting hammered I'll still be laughing.

    Clermont A 49 - 25 Ospreys

Biarritz 40 - 3 NG Dragons (hat trick for Brew against his former club)

Bayonne 15 - 20 Ulster (Late try seals a good Ulster win)

Bad result for Munster but it could be a sign of big changes to come more than anything else. I'm sure if they went out and played conservatively it would have been a much tighter game. It could take Penney months to get the team playing his style of rugby so maybe the tough fixture list at the start of the rabo season will be good timing.

Next two weeks will tell a bit more but I myself wont be judging anything fully until the 13th of October against Racing.

Wouldnt mind the result, but the talk of being second best in the scum is worrisome. Are they a good scrummaging team? Could it be our light second row?

Happy with that. Green shoots, from small acorns etc..pleased to hear of potency in our back line. A fresh start.

You learn more about where you're really at in defeat than you do in victory. With Penney needing to learn his team and a lot of new players needing to learn their teammates, this is not a bad result. I would say himself and Mannix now have a better idea where we are which will play a big part in figuring out how we get to where we want to be.
