Taz-Where did you get that information as I have seen nowhere that he(Penney) was ruled out?

Editor-- This article originally said Rob Penney had missed out on the Munster coaching job. That information was incorrect.
Met him last weekend, he said he was hoping to stay in the area cos his family were settled here. Best of luck to him
I'm delighted for him. Got a bit of a Bad rep over the last few seasons and some folks on here seemed to take great pleasure in Slating hinm for everything that'd gone wrong but hopefully he'll prove a lot fo folk wrong!
Best of luck to him.
The problem with this world is there are too many snakes... and not enough Ladders!
Good luck to him , nice guy and a good team player . Wrong job for him though over the last few years
Best of luck to Dutchy. Nice to see him continue in the game and use his vast Munster experience elsewhere.
Is an AIL Club job at this stage a good idea ? Sometimes you have to bite the bullet but with family ties and maybe spouse working here it may be the right decision. I have to say I was not happy with Munster back play for the last 3 seasons - whether that was down to him or Tony Mc Gahan I dont know. Good luck to him whatever he considers is right for him and probably a big help to Midleton RFC.
Just ammended the thread title instead of starting a new one.
Dutchy heading home after getting the assistant coach position at Canterbury in NZ.Off in April I believe.

Seeing as how we're playing with Mannix, maybe Holland wasn't the issue and it really is down to the players. Eitherway, I hope he's a massive success in his new role.
It is useless to attempt to reason a man out of a thing he was never reasoned into.
Every plan I have is the best plan in the room. Everybody get quiet and listen to it, and everybody will win
Isn't it great to see the improvement in our back play since Mannix joined! I'm thinking that all the bile that was posted on here about Dutchy shows the fickle nature of so called fans. If anybody watches the miracle match they will see that he was heavily involved in 3 of the tries. The chip through for Mossie Lawlor and the cross field kick for Mickos try. He also set up the maul for the last try. He is one of the most knowledgable people I have ever spoken to about rugby. Thanks Jason and best of luck to you,Angie and the girls on your return home. There will always be a welcome for you in Midleton.

best of luck Jason with the new job,you will be missed in Midleton and all over Munster, great memories.
To Dare Is To Do!!
Well done Jason! Thanks for the memories (intercept try in Toulouse still makes me smile). Hope you have an enjoyable and successful time at Canterbury. All the best!
Good post for him to get and it shows how highly he is regarded.
He's a gent and he gave everything to the munster team both as a player and as part of the coaching staff. Good luck to the guy in his new job
He will always have the Miracle Match on his CV. Best wishes in the land of the White Cloud.

He's lining out for Midleton one last time on Saturday. Thanks Dutchy.
