Yup,Friday is the issue, charging €235 one way out of Cork for that day.Thats why I am risking the Saturday morning option,if it goes tits up with the fixture time so be it.

Edit: Just spotted Shannon has no Saturday option

some of my friends are talking about going over for the 6nations instead because of the prices for the HEC weekend, the prices were already on an upward trend well before the order of fixtures was announced,

There is also the option of the Ferry from Larne Stranraer with our motorway network getting to Larne is not much hassle. The Ferry trip is quite short and you can mingle with the Rangers Bhoys on the way to Ibrox Park !!!

It would be Belfast-Cairnryan with Stena, or else Larne-Cairnryan or Larne-Troon with P&O. Just checked and Larne-Troon is a 2 hour crossing with the fast boat, which compares very favourably with the 2 hours 20 minutes crossing time from Belfast-Cairnryan with Stena. Ok, Larne is is a bit further to drive than Belfast, but that's a good road now with additional stretches of dual-carriageway for about two thirds of the 20 extra miles - unlike the single-carriageway you'd have to endure for the first 50 miles or so in Scotland. Going via Troon avoids most of that and overall would save at least an hour of driving in each direction.
Never mind perception because it isn’t real. It’s only what people think. Go out and make them think something else.

    Munster may grace Wembley

    By Charlie Mulqueen

    Friday, July 27, 2012

Munster fans are readying themselves for the mouth-watering prospect of seeing their team in action in the hallowed surroundings of Wembley Stadium nine days before Christmas.

Saracens have deferred nominating the venue for Munster’s Heineken Cup visit on December 16, instead revealing the game will take place in London. But the speculation is they will bring the game either to Wembley or Twickenham stadia to cater for a crowd in excess of 80,000 spectators.

The Irish Times is very upset that Leinster will only have a six day turnaround for their HC games against Clermont in December.

It seems to have escaped their notice that Clermont will have exactly the same turnaround.
