I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain
how did payne get on??
"Lads, your not to miss practice unless your parents died or you died" Frank Leahy
Payne was classiest player on the field. Nothing too spectacular, just very calm and cool. Called a switch at first receiver before slinging out a beautiful skip pass for opening try. Massive boost to Ulster to have him back.
Will be in Cork this weekend. Looking foward to being the only Treviso supporters at 8pm in a bar this friday.
But more importantly has anyone any ideas where we might catch Ospreys v Ulster which in on S4C ? - kick off 6.30pm saturday.
Hopefully see some of you on Friday week @ Ravenhill.

Where is Wilson....
He was as lame as a duck. Not the metaphorical lame duck either, but a real duck that was actually lame. Maybe from stepping on a land mine or something.
agreed, will be a close 1... Tipuric could have a field day with your back row......

Awful stuff on s4c. 0-0 after 18mins, and the Todgers are already on a final warning from the ref. The s4c commentator said that he hopes when the ospreys wear their away jersey, that they don't get mistaken for car park attendants![]()

NOC with the usual. handy enough penalty kick & misses

Blind ******** of a ref misses a big knock on & ospreys score a try

It's a pretty poor performance from Ulster - reminiscent of the sort of crap they were producing two or three years ago. Headless, clueless stuff, errors all over the field, some truly horrendous passing. Jared Payne's "tackle" on Dirkson for the try was everything that Geordan Murphy used to get slated for, absolutely woejus. Hope they turn it around in the second half because if this is where their heads are when playing away from home then it's gonna be a long season for them.
Never mind perception because it isn’t real. It’s only what people think. Go out and make them think something else.

HT 7-3, with NOC having missed two penalty kicks. Astounding to think that Ulster could actually be ahead at this stage but for that. They're kicking straight to Os back three throughout the first half, with errors galore from both sides but much better defending by the Os. Turgid stuff ...

Todgers handling errors are as bad as our own at this stage
Fez, Jackson, Trimble and Afoa on for Uster at 54 mins(Afoa came on for Fitzpatrick at about 50 mins)
Ulster win 16-13, Despite the ref & touch judges

Had to miss most of the second half. Did the Ulster performance improve significantly or was the try against the run of play?

Two losses for the chavs so far
I realised I was dyslexic when I went to a toga party dressed as a goat
Jackson was immense. Ulster in the last 12 minutes woke up and wripped the Ospreys to shreds. The 2nd try was outstanding, length of the field stuff.
Bringing on some 1st XV players in the 2nd half helped a lot though. Henry, Best, Tuohy etc will also be back next week for the Munster match.

Excellent, glad to hear that there was an improvement - the first half was very worrying. Next week's game could be a real mouth-watering affair.

Good weekend with all four teams winning. The chav try was ridiculous, utterly ridiculous.

Cracker of a try last night, will make it all the more frustrating when Gilroy's form is ignored by the brains trust.
Horrible match of rugby truth be told, well certainly for the first 50 minutes. Thought we were probably unlucky to be losing at HT to be honest and that we probably did deserve the win in the grand scheme of things but that is more down to how poor the Ospreys were rather than anything terribly brilliant by Ulster. Pack were decent enough throughout, Williams and Stevenson standing out once again, and the addition of Afoa and Ferris around 50 minutes gave those around them a much needed lift whilst undoubtedly giving the Ospreys the 'oh ****' feeling. Backs were poor enough, basics still not where they need to be and O'Connor's kicking woes got into the rest of his game until he got the hook.
I'd be really worried about the general quality of the Welsh sides in general this year, if this weekends fare is anything to go by they could really struggle in both the Rabo and HEC which will only give the Anglo's and Frogs more ammunition.
Unconfirmed that Nevin Spence is amongst the dead in a tragic farming accident today.

Gang on UAFC seem to confirm.
RIP to those who are dead, regardless of confirmation. Speechless.
Ulster Rugby have requested that their next match be postponed as a mark of respect - they were due to play Italy on Friday.
In a statement, grieving relatives said that the families were trying very hard to come to terms with the loss.
"The three men were very close to each other in life, and that love was expressed in their final moments trying to help one another," the statement said.
"The family is being supported and comforted by other family members, friends and neighbours.
"Arrangements for a thanksgiving service for the three is currently under way and details will appear in the press in due course."

Taz-Where did you get that information as I have seen nowhere that he(Penney) was ruled out?
Editor - The writer stands by the Penney information.

Editor-- This article originally said Rob Penney had missed out on the Munster coaching job. That information was incorrect.
9-17 to Ulster at HT. Trys from Allen (who injured himself in the process) and Fat Nick. Some lovely rugby.
