What's the story with Shane Buckley? I know he has gone to YM but afaik he has been told since he moved after the date he cannot play AIL. How is this going to help his development/career?

Don't think that matters as long as the transfer was done before the begining of september, could be wrong there but i know that its along the lines of you can transfer to a club before 1st August without any objections, between than and 1st September if a player wants to transfer his club can object to allowing it go through. If anyone can correct me on that i'd appreciate it, just my general jist of transfer regs

I heard recently that it fell through and he is staying in Garryowen. Could be wrong though,

I'm pretty certain though Bromance that there are different dates for the AIL, when transferring locally. It would be a different matter altogether if he was going to a club in Dublin say, as it is then a matter of him changing where he lives.

Edit: I can't remember what the date is but I'll find out

Its not like transfering from a GAA club to another it just a transfer, can't see going from Shannon to G'owen be different from going to YM to Belvo! Can't have different rules for that. Its hardly gonna turn into a Seanie F**kin Johnson affair!!

i thought it was end of June if you were moving within your province and end August if you were moving outside of your province.

used be this way, could have changed.

if transferring, for AIL, you have to transfer by June 1.

There is a concession if you're moving to a club over 60 miles away. The idea being if you get a new job/transfer of job etc. in that scenario you can move after June 1. Note: this is specifically for AIL matches. The dates for local competitions are different

I heard from someone close to him he had to stay in Garryown they refused to release him as transfer date for city move is June 1st. Heard he was told to stay with Garryowen or move to Cork. Seems strange when you consider the strenght in depth garryowen have in the backrow and he will be competing for game time so may slow his development but the rule is June 1st for AIL.

I don't understand Garryowens issue or any clubs issue with a player wanting to transfer clubs. If a player wants to go he obviously doesn't want to be there, as a manager would you want a player that doesn't want to play for your team around your club?? I personally wouldn't!!

Is there any indication of why Buckley wants to leave? And please don't say MONEY cause i know for a fact thay YM aren't throwing money at players at the moment!!

Of course they're throwing money around-it's common knowledge but they're not the only ones.

Every senior club except Bruff give match win bonuses!! We're very quick to praise players.........not as quick to back up statements with facts or names! Seems like everyone "knows" people being paid, no-one wants to say who, no one can ACTUALLY confirm it and if it was at all true how the hell is the club still running?? They'd be long bust!!

Don't think anyone can confirm it! How can they?

They are cash payments. Its common knowledge without evidence other than word of mouth that Young Munster pay Players.
By that I mean that I have been told by several players.

There are always rumors flying around about players allegedly being paid by clubs. I wouldn't want to see any names posted regardless.

My whole issue is that lads are clearly talking ****e cause everyone claims that YM are paying them but why would they pay lads when some are only good enough for 2nds and won't get near the 1st XV, everyone believes their paying lads to come up from junior that realistically will still playing JC instead of AIL, thats where my whole issue comes from with everyone saying YM are throwing money at players that 30 different people on here claim to know, Can only put 20 in an AIL match day squad. And realistically 12 of that starting XV aren't gonna demand money to stay.........have no right to demand it!

Chill a bit... this is nothing new i.e Senior players getting paid. Not just a Young Munsters thing although they clearly have a few bob more in the last couple of years. It does come in cycles though with some clubs being able to pay more in some years than others. And by the way I also know of Young M players being offered 'inducements' to attract them and not always Senior players either.

The ex tigers player is Stephen MacAuley. he had been training with connacht over the summer. wasnt added to their academy

  26. #176
where does the backrow player play 6 7 or 8

  27. #177
MacAuley must be handy if was brought over to the tigers!! The backrow is a 6 or tighthead lock

  28. #178
McAuley was at Clongowes and is from around Downpatrick, was he definitely not taken into the Connacht Academy? I thought it was confirmed he was. He was release by the Tigers as Cockerill felt he was too small.

how many new backrow players did YM get this year? i know of the 2 junior lads.. many more?

  30. #180
possibly 6-7, including lads from school. Think they've signed 2 junior players last season from senans and c'island (whose been exceptional so far) 2 or 3 from senior clubs. adding lads they stayed and arrived back from abroad there's plenty competition
