If they get a win next week it'll have been a very good two weeks. If we then, touch wood, have SOB (makes such a difference, how many Leinster tries begin with him getting beyond the defensive line), Rhys Ruddock, Dominick Ryan, Isaac Boss (he's the type of SH Schmidt always picks against big abrasive teams like Exeter, really missed him at the weekend), Gordon D'arcy, Luke Fitzgerald (he'll be like a new signing if he gets a turn of luck injury wise, he was playing brilliant stuff for his short uninjured spell last year) and Rob Kearney back for the mid and closing weekends of the group stages we'll be looking a lot stronger. As is said though, lock is an area of serious weakness. If we get out of the group, a short term Thorn type signing is badly needed as a Cullen and Toner/Browne/Denton/Roux pairing really won't cut it against a Clermont or Toulouse.

Ironic that the best Irish second row on display in the RDS was wearing a pink jersey. Criminal that one of the provinces dont appear to have come in for him, with the added bonus for anyone signing him that he is not an international.

Maybe he doesn't want to come home?

Could well be the case. Still would consider it surprising that he has never been even linked with one of the provinces, not even a sniff of a rumour that one would like to sign him!

I remember England were sniffing around him a year or two ago. Nothing came of it in the end but he said at the time he'd consider declaring for them if asked. Maybe that influenced his decision in staying in Exeter?

Just seeing this now...! A shocking and rare example of good sense breaking out on a fan forum.

Seriously there should be more of these inter-provincial loans and I, for one would be delighted to welcome Nagle for a few months.

In return-I'm guessing.....eh- a backrow or even possibly a centre? When Fitzgerald and O'Malley are back in harness Leinster should be covered there.

Nagle was injured at the start of the year, shoulder I believe... Which is why we have not seen him play, and also why Billy Holland got off to a great start...

Also the reason why he is not on our HEC squad AT THE MOMENT....

(He would have missed out on Leinsters squad timing too)....
He was as lame as a duck. Not the metaphorical lame duck either, but a real duck that was actually lame. Maybe from stepping on a land mine or something.

It was announced yesterday Brad Thorn has signed a 12-month contract with New Zealand franchise the Highlanders ahead of next year’s Super Rugby competition. That significantly lessens the chances of the 37-year-old returning to Leinster when his stint in Japan is completed

A bit surprised they went with Madigan again at 15 rather than keeping Conway on the wing and shifting Nacewa there. Still a better looking backline with Darcy back though.

not sure I agree, McFadden was our best back I thought last week. Conway would be better on the wing than him as well as a natural winger. Our best fullback has always been Nacewa.

Have to agree with you on McFadden. He's has looked good at 12 on his last outings. Also agree with you on Conway. I would keep Nacewa and Madigan at 11 and 15, because Nacewa is the one covering Gog North, and the thought of him popping up to attack McFadden on the wing is not one to comfort anyone in blue.

That said, Foxy Davies is out, and that's a big blow to the Turks.

With leinster Mc Fadden has rarely been caught out on the wing defensively. Dealt well with Nalaga from Clermont 2 years ago.

Its at interantional level where Mc Fadden struggles defensively. I think thats simply down to the higher pace of international rugby.

He's tried to come home many times over the years, to all/any of the provinces, but no-one was ever interested.

Sexton having a good game. Breakdown work much better than last week. Hopefully we can kick on and put Scarlets away.
And I have to admit Darcy is playing very well.

Looking at that performance by Leinster I'm tempted to say that they are doing exactly what Munster of 5 yrs ago were doing. Squeeze the life out of the opposition in defence and everytime you go up the field take a score. Its not revolutionary, just solid. Scarlets have had probably more possession and territory but Leinster are in control of it.

Build from defence. Its what has worked for us. Once that works the confidence in the overloading and back play will come back.

Poor form that Scarlets can't fill a ground for the visit of the European Champions.
