"Be moderate in everything, including moderation." - Horace Porter
Well, Messrs Penney and Mannix were both in UL today
And so it begins...

Rob Penney and Simon Mannix both flew in to Ireland over the weekend and got straight down to business with a coaches meeting on Sunday afternoon in Cork.
The new Director of Rugby and Backs Coach made the trip to Limerick this morning for their first squad training session, and will meet with the returning international players next Monday. As Penney familiarises himself with the Munster set-up he has just over three week's to the first pre-season game of the season, away to La Rochelle on Friday August 10th.

Taz-Where did you get that information as I have seen nowhere that he(Penney) was ruled out?
Editor - The writer stands by the Penney information.

Editor-- This article originally said Rob Penney had missed out on the Munster coaching job. That information was incorrect.

Interesting times a head. Looking forward to the new journey.

This is actually quite exciting. An element of the unknown laced with slivers or hope and possibility.

For the record, "coaches meeting" (no apostrophe) is 100% correct.
Yes. Plural doesn't necessarily take an apostrophe. In this case, as the coaches don't own the meeting, the possessive apostrophe isn't required.
(And, it's "it's", not its!)
Kilcock was a boundary village of the Pale in 1488. However, I suspect that Uncle Pat's cabin lay just outside the boundary!
Be the hokey, let's get the pedantry hats out for a quick 2 step.
Yes, coaches meeting is OK, but, Shirley, a coaches' meeting requires an apostrophe in the genitive case. No?
BTW, there's a gratuitous apostrophe in "week's" further down the text.
See how the universe balances everything out eventually.
edit: they do own the meeting.
well looka
Really really genuinely excited about the season ahead. The older heads get a new adventure to hopefully revive them for one last big effort. The kids have another season of experience under their belt. First time ever we are starting with a complete blank canvass. The coach has no ties to any players (except Casey) and everyone will be getting a fresh chance. Old form out the window. Hopefully back to seeing body bags carried off the training pitch. Can not wait to get home for Ulster match at Christmas but until then..................G'WAN MUNSTER!!!
No, Shirley. It's not necessarily required. It seems you're also making the common error of confusing possessive or genitive with ownership. There's a subtle difference.
However, I think a more appropriate topic for discussion within this particular thread is how did Penney (and indeed Mannix) endure the car journey down from Belfast International Airport and when is their trial commute to Cork? Or if this has already occurred, are there any reports of serious discomfort or grumpiness?
We didn't get in a man with a face like a blind blacksmith's thumb for him not to be grumpy!
