    Pro12 MustWin games - The run-in

The scale of the disaster away to Aironi is now apparent. Table updated too,

    Leinster (77pts): Dragons (a).

    Ospreys (67): Aironi (a).

    Munster (60): Scarlets (a); Ulster (h).

    Warriors (57): Treviso (a); Connacht (h).
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Ulster (56): Munster (a).
    Scarlets (55): Munster (h); Blues (h).

Home semi hopes extinguished, Warriors surely looking at two 4 point wins minimum. Ulster must do or die against Munster.

Seven out of 12 teams still in the running for a playoff spot. Have to say that while I was in two minds about the introduction of the semi-final and final games, I think the restructuring of the league has been a success in terms of generating a bit of a buzz by giving a large number of teams something to play for up to a fairly late point in the season. All the same, the league winners should still be accorded recognition in their own right, as opposed to "yeah well you might have topped the table, but you lost the final so you won nothing".
Never mind perception because it isn’t real. It’s only what people think. Go out and make them think something else.

Cannot see us winning a home semi now given the Ospreys run in. In fact looking at the run in above and given the injuries we have you'd wonder about whether we'll make the play offs at all.

With 2 out of the 3 games at home, you wouldn't back Munster?
Injuries...we have 4 returning for this week's game.

Well i shall be looking to head over the bridge for the scarlets game. If we fail to win all three of the remaining games then I think we will struggle to make the play offs full stop.

    Insulting? Nah.

    Fair comment? Possibly.

p.s. I'm in bad form (rugby wise) after Saturday's game. I'd hope to improve during the week though.

Looking like an away semi in the Aviva.

Home semi is surely gone now. Two 4 point wins for the Ospreys enough to get them home semi. See updated table for points diff and tries scored

The season went down the swanny that day made a dogs dinner of what should a been a five pointer. We were poor the previous week and luck to get the win, nothing was learnt during the week and we duly lost to Aroni. The stand out error of that match for me was hurley left for dead by the flanker and that lesson wasn't learnt either as was demonstrated last week. We have struggled/been poor in all games since foley went on his ireland jaunt.

Aironi was a disaster but the hairspays coud well go there and wind up losing, it would not be the first time they have bottled it! Hope Ulster finish 4th as they are most likely to beat Leinster and get us the home final which would recoup some money.

Just to point out, Connacht are now just two points behind the Dragons. Next week Connacht play Aironi at home (almost guaranteed win) and Dragons are away to Ospreys (probable Ospreys victory). This will put Connacht ahead of Ospreys with one game to play. Connacht travel to Glasgow on the 5th of May while Dragons play at home to Leinster. Surely Connacht could be marginal favourites to finish ahead of the Dragons and claim an automatic Heineken cup place?

Don't they have to finish ahead of Ulster for that to happen? Plus some of us, myself included, think Connacht have qualified already because of the four french teams in the Amlin and no English or Welsh left in either tournament.
