Oh, I know that, but do you really think Romney has a chance?

    I can't see it.

Well i'll be voting in the election come the fall..... and this is the worst collection Republicans since the queue for a taxi outside the Maze on the monday after the Good friday agreement.....

Cain Bachmann Paul and Santorum straight out the looney tunes...

Only think that might save Romney is if he get a strong VP running with him.... Marco Rubio in Florida for example....

But the only person i can see beating Obama is Obama.

If I may... If I was at your place, I would take care... After the kick he will get in his f...ing ass in may, I am sure that our dwarf will look, for a personal solution... And if there is any little chance to reach the power, because a place is free, he will be able to anything... And because US voters do not know the verb "to lie" (Si? Oh, I do not trust you ), they are good preys for him...
So, my advice: Don't give him a green card!!!!
PS: I hope that "my kingdom", sorry, that the country where I am living does not have such big ears like NSA has, because I am afraid that I will soon have the visit of the tax office...

    I must not fear.
    Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
    I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

The economy is doing a lot better than many other places. Take a look at this, released by the treasury dept.

    http://www.theatlantic.com/business/...charts/253806/

    - Private sector employement has grown for 23 consecutive months
    - The economy has grown for 10 straight quarters

Look at the s**t Obama's administration was left to deal with (Deficits exacarbated by Bush tax cuts etc) and also a colossal global recession.

Saying that he could have done better in his first three years but I'd be reasonalbly happy with his performance and decision making.

When the Obama train pulls out of Washington, it's gonna take a hell of a lot to stop him, added to by the amount of money he has behind him as president.... people arent taking to Romney, I think that would be highlighted even more if he goes head to head with Obama. Not a great bunch to choose from.. Obama should be given more time to see what he can do it a second term in my opinion.

    Poll: USA Election 2012

That "47%" is the end of Romney, if he wasn't gone already.

The next week will be an examination of who he meant, and why his basic numbers don't stack up.

Then he'll be clattered with the "out of touch rich guy" stick for a few weeks.

The pollster I like best is Nate Silver who blogs in the New York Times. In 2008, he had his own independent website, which I preferred, but looks like he's taken the $$'s.

Nevertheless, he's the best around, big on statistics, low on headlines, but he really gets behind the numbers by creating his own simulations which he re-runs constantly.

In 2008 he got 49 states correct (although he argues that he that this was somewhat flukey). Well worth a review every day!

The whole "Bull**** Mountain" segment is one of the best to come from this election campaign so far. That food stamps bit towards the end was staggering.
Governments don't ask themselves "what can we do that is good for the people?". They ask themselves "how do we persuade people that what we want to do is good for them?".

It's the 47% bit that stuns me. You expect politicians to talk about their opponents supporters in stereotypes about greedy rich and lazy scroungers but to label half the country that way? How dumb can you be?

Mitt Romney’s Family Trust Invested In Chinese Companies

    Taylor Berman

Mitt Romney's 2011 tax returns, which were finally released today, show that Romney's family trust invested in two Chinese companies, a bank and a state-owned oil company. Then, as Romney's presidential campaign gained momentum, the trust sold the shares. This might not a big deal if Romney hadn't spent much of the past two years criticizing China for using unfair trade practices, and then faulting Obama for not being tougher on China's policies. For instance, Romney has said a lot of things like this:
"President Obama has spent 43 months failing to confront China's unfair trade practices," Mr. Romney said in a statement after Mr. Obama's announced that the government had filed trade complaints against China. "Campaign-season trade cases may sound good on the stump, but it is too little, too late for American businesses and middle-class families.
Doesn't sound so great now, does it? But here's the real kicker:
On Aug. 10, 2011, as Mr. Romney was emerging as a harsh critic of China, the shares were sold, producing a profit of $8,138, as the trust made money on the oil company but lost money on the bank.
So while Obama was spending 43 months not being tough enough on China's trade policies, Romney's trust was trying to profit from them. And then, through pure coincidence, Romney's family trust sold their shares in the two companies just as Romney escalated his presidential campaign (and criticisms of China).
Of course, Romney would never do something as transparently manipulative as instruct his bookkeeping lackeys to match his considerable finances to some politically advantageous figure or goal.

Still probably too close for comfort for the Obama camp until now. State by state polls should be encouraging but national tracking polls, still show a close race.

But I'm with Blackwarrior on Nate Silver, very honest and reliable pollster, Accurate too.

The debates and further revelations about Romney, whose campaign, no matter what your persuasion could indeed be classified as "Romneyshambles", has been poorly coordinated and message managed, will probably see more floating voters make up their mind. Or actually verbalise the decision they'd probably already made anyway.

In 2008 the McCain campaign did an effective job of lowering expectations for the debates with Obama/Biden but I really don't think that will work this year. You've got a bottom-heavy ticket on the Republican side so Ryan/Biden will be a wash because ole Joe is getting a pasting from the press in recent months and Ryan is seen as an intellectual. And no matter how much his campaign lowers expectations for Mitt, Obama seems to have kicked into high gear and decided he wants to really beat him so he'll take no prisoners. Romney performed poorly in the primary debates, including trying to arange a five-figure bet at one point- so he'll need some coaching to make it through the one on one scrutiny of the national debates.

Failing unforseen circumstances, I think Obama could win a sizable electoral college victory but perhaps a much smaller popular vote victory. But there is still a long way to go.

The republicans have gone nuts. There is a lot to be said for their traditional views of small government and personal freedom, but they have now become religious zealots, sponsors of big business and protecting the wealthiest of individuals as opposed to the most vulnerable of society.

I just don't see how anyone could vote for Romney, the man is a fecking half wit as far as I can make out. That said I find all the BS that goes on around Obama a bit nauseating as well, he runs a viscous operation as well and is certainly not the cuddly messiah everyone likes to portray. American politics is polarised to an alarming extent, very worrying!!
