Dont think I have ever heard, seen, imagined or even contemplated this amount of injuries / retirements happening in one season to any team in any sport in the world!

Taz-Where did you get that information as I have seen nowhere that he(Penney) was ruled out?

I look back on 2008 at the Millennium Stadium as the highlight of my career because, although being capped by New Zealand and playing for the All Blacks was fantastic, this was special. - Doug Howlett
Thank fcuk for that.
Will be fantastic to have POC around from the start of pre season with all the changes about.

Pity for Paulie on a personal level....he hasn't been in NZ since 2008 i think...and the way tours have changed...it might be a while before Ireland are in NZ again....last chance may have gone to play the best in they're house.

It has come to something when a confirmation that POC is not fit to play is greeted with cheering in the streets; that said, thank f*ck he is not going to be flown, half fit, around the world and is going to be left at home to have a proper break, rehabilitation and pre season.
Sorry to put a dampener on it, but lets just hope that his injury isn't more serious than first feared...

Its Ryan time now....... Gwan neyyynaaaa (dont get injured for the love of ****)
I am the million man.
If it was more serious than feared, he'd not even have been in consideration. This, hopefully, means that it's pretty much on the mark of what we thought initially, rather than being miles better than anyone thought.
If any of you whoors in Limerick see him doing, or lifting, ANYTHING over the next four weeks, I'll flake the heads off ye. Ye are, for the next month, collectively his slaves, to pamper to his every whim and need and to ensure the Emperor Paulus Rufus Maxissimus gets a proper rest in. I'd tell ye to carpet the streets before him with your bodies, were it not for the fact that climbing over Larry would probably require sherpas...

I am suffering from cramp and a dodgy knee ,so I have to put myself on the injury list

Maybe Larry is misinterpreting sherpas?

Doug Howlett, who missed most of last season through injury is reported to be ahead of schedule in his rehab and is expected to feature in Munster's pre-season match programme.
Good news too for Dave Foley (shoulder), Damien Varley (ankle), Duncan Williams (hip) andJohne Murphy (ankle) is that all three are expected to take some part in those August games while Niall Ronan (knee) is looking at a return to action towards the end of August or early September.
