I've said it before, for a man who seems to be getting the gig as the expert on Irish rugby he knows a great deal of feck all about Irish rugby. My knowledge of Ulster players has often been better than his and he knows nothing but gossip, urban myth and ******** about the other sides.

You mean Franno's "expert" opinions that consist of 1 of 3 comments:

    1) Pack poor, breakdown poor, lineout poor, tackling poor....and so on
    2) If Leinster win, it was due to their dominance, execution etc
    3) If Munster win, it was due to how poor the opposition were

That being said, I still reckon Dara O'Brien and Victor Costello should be taken off the air completely! O'Brien is obnoxious about how long will it be til Leinster crumble. Costello just outright hates Munster due to the fact that his era on the pitch consisted of regular hidings at the hands of red jerseys.

Anyway, these pundits with agendas should be kept off TV no matter what side they'r on!

FWIW, I think that Donal Leni(e?)han is the best Irish rugby analyst around by a country kilometer.

Except when anything is wrong with Munster rugby; immediately he's salivating over some poxy State of Origin match he saw in the 70's and their 'super human skills', I sometimes wonder what influence he had on Gaffney and McGahan arriving here, just a thought.
The people of Munster - it's almost the Nation of Munster - it gave me shivers to see how they were supported today and that people will travel like that.

There aren't enough good commentators to cover all of the games on a Sky HEC pool weekend. Unless we're the biggie game that weekend, down the commentator food chain we go. I don't see the point about complaining about it. It is what it is....

May I just draw attention to something that this bollix said last weekend during Munster v Edinburgh.

He said that the Edinburgh coaching staff could have "gone into the library with last weeks match tape, bottle of malt and a revolver"

A complaint should go into the Broadcasting commission against him for that! Bollix of the highest caliber

In fairness, he said that some journo wrote that in a paper. He was quoting it as an example of the level of criticism they were getting. Not quite the same thing.

In a recent Ulster match he refuted a co-commentator's claim that a Todger had been slapped - even when he saw the re-play, he said it was an 'open-handed' punch!

Also, he must really miss "David Humphries OBE"!

This guy really is the lowest of the low - for Nordie commentators, give me Conor Morris any day

I reckon Greenwood is far more tolerable than any of the others on your list, Huwie. At least he knows the game and is still involved.
Never mind perception because it isn’t real. It’s only what people think. Go out and make them think something else.

When Felix Jones came on the field on Sunday, he kept blabbling on about the guy's list of injuries. It got to the point where it sounded like he was trying to put a commentator's curse on him. He's a gob****e of the highest order that goes on and on and on. Same for when Keatley was taking a kick. Explaining that commentators get slapped for speaking through the lead up to a kick, yet he couldn't help himself.

Plus how many times did he bring up the fact that Ulster beat Munster in the Heineken in Thomond. Prat!

I completely agree with all of the above except Greenwood.

He is by no means perfect and does have a habit of getting too excited in a kinda annoying way but he does have a huge passion for the game and expresses it. Look at yesterday when he wasn't shy in cutting down Quinnell and then promptly took the piss outta Horgan - twice.

Lets not forget the biggest (and I use that term loosely) bollix on Sky apart from Robson - Stuart Barnes. Evil dwarf!

Mark Robson - really? Cant sky do better?

Rugby Club was good last night, there was a nice bit of back and forth for a change. Maybe the format with the studio audience is better.

Yes, it's normally shown a few times during the week.

Wonder if they could bring back the Hook and Pope Roadshow - except with no Hook. Thought that was a good idea!

Repeated already twice this morning (immediately after that wonderful IPC Championship Cup Final!) and has just started again on SS1. Sadly, this appears to be the final repeat.

Robson can be annoying but he isn't the worst commentator in the world. For starters he has a good sense of humour. He hypes players up way too much but thats part of the job working for sky. If you want to listen to bad rugby commentators tune into RTE.
