Thread: Michael Lowry

1. #1
31/03/2011 - 11:28:22</span>
A motion to censure calling for the resignation of Michael Lowry been passed without a vote in the Dáil today.

Independent TD for Tipperary North responded: "I am not a criminal."

He
reiterated that he will not resign and has again lashed out at the
Moriarty Tribunal report, saying it is flawed and not grounded in fact.

The
former Minister pleaded with the Tánaiste to ensure any Garda inquiry
is dealt with expeditiously and that the scrutiny of him is brought to
an end.

He also said that he would not take a lecture from Sinn
Féin, given their past associations with "atrocities, mutilation, murder
on civilians and unarmed gardaí".

Probably Grandpa (and I wonder what that says about his constituents?) but that wasn't the question.

He's been called all sorts of bad things by Moriarty, and has now been censured by the Dail.

If that's all they can do to him wtf did we waste such a huge amount of money on a tribunal?

I hope the CAB etc. find something good enough to stick on him personally.

You know someone is stuck when the best they can do is say they never murdered anyone.

Hopefully he will get taken to the cleaners by Cab and the garda. But he shouldn't be alone in being charged.

Moriarty should crack on with the Costs issues, send Lowry a ginormous bill, then bankrupt the fupper fastrack, then there is the reason to kick him out of the Dail.

8. #8
So with his big brazen neck he is going to go and sit in the Dail day after day after day doing nothing because he cant and nobody will touch him with the proverbial barge pole all the while pocketing 100k+ (that we know about but thats another issue altogether!!). His seat would be better served sitting empty, as it stands North Tipp are minus one representative (although whether they deserve representing again is another issue).

They have thicker necks than Lowry, some achievement.

He has some neck on him to be pontificating to anybody, that fcuker is going to cost us the bones of 1 billion euros that we just dont have. He is a tax cheat, held illegal off shore accounts, took bribes, accepted payment in kind, stole from his employees and was found "profoundly corrupt" by a High Court Judge yet he is taking the moral high ground what a mad little island we live on that he doesnt even have to resign

Not that I'm defending him, but none of the above has been proven as fact, it's all opinion.

His settlements with Revenue would suggest otherwise at least with respect to the tax cheating, offshore accounts and 'stealing' from his employees.

What did he say ?

He also said he would 'take no lectures from Sinn Féin' on his
behaviour, as that party had been associated with atrocities,
mutilations and the murder of unarmed gardaí.
He said comments by Deputy Mary Lou McDonald made him
'retch'.

KERMIT :

It also came out in the Tribunal and is a proven fact that he pocketed hisEMPLOYEES Christmas Bonuses that were given to him byBen Dunne to be passed on when he still had his refrigeration company "Garuda".

The amount was in the region of €35,000 each year for 4 years = €140,000.

A tidy little sum and we all know that he is pushing this Casino in Tipperary for the love of his constituents and that he won't get a "Brass Farthing" out of the deal. The same amount that he didn't get from Ben Dunne (a man who refurbished his house to the tune of €395,000) or Denis O'Brien whose transfers (through an intermediary) amounted to nearly €800,000.

Sure this guy should be drawing Social Welfare !!!! to keep his head above water.

I have seen and heard variations on this theme here and elsewhere and it is beginning to grate. 70% plus of Tipp North people did not vote for Lowry and feel exactly the same way about him as everyone else. Those who did are no different to the people in Offaly who gave Biffos brother the family sate, the Dubs that voted for Ahearne, Lalor, Haughey, Burke, the people of Mayo that voted for the dreadful Flynns etc. Indeed, the 20% or so that still saw fit to vote for FF across the country as a whole last time out after where they had brought us. The Cork constituency that voted in two of the bostards are all the same type of people, decent but misguided. I don't hear or see any of those being denigrated for their voting patterns though. Why Tipp NR?

.

I am aware of the sweeping generalisation, I'm not singling out Tipp NR, you are right about the other constituencies that returned corrupt/gombeen/highly immoral TD's. Part of the solution in my view is the radical reduction of politicians in this country and weed out these wasters who have dragged the country into the toilet.

Lowry is getting touchy again and telling journos it is none of their business, which as we all know it defo is of public interest, this story could lead to another money trail for the polltopper of North Tipp, what a plonker, what do they need in NT to get rid of this corrupt arsehole, perhaps when the SuperCasino is finally sunk - eh.

Remember this man has invited these two gazeboes to a dinner in honour of the head of state of his adopted country, two people of no standing with no business there at all. This shows great disrepect for Prince Albert, and yet Smurfit was willing to show this disrepect to his adopted country purely in order to insult the citizens of his native country , who will have to pay for the misdeeds of these two gazeboes.

Some posters are suggesting this thread is populist hatred of the rich.

There is a class war here all right , but it is Smurfit who is waging it unilaterally from above. Sack him, Mr. Gilmore, he should never have been appointed after the Glackin Report in any case. Sack him and do us all a favour.

I heard this on the radio the other day and was sure I'd misheard the names. Fingleton? The same corrupt skanger who's landed the overburdened taxpayer with a bill for billions? And Lowry, the tax-cheating liar who's still trying to dump on the people he's supposed to be serving?

If Smurfit has an ounce of respect for his own name and business reputation what in God's name was he thinking by bringing along two of the country's most contemptible individuals?

I wonder if Seanie Fitz was on the list but couldn't make it because of his golfing commitments in the Marbella sunshine.

Nothing quite like a sweeping generalisation now is there. For the record neither I nor anyone I know voted for him, obviously lots did but those who did not certainly do not deserve him. If for any reason I had to go to a TD it would be Kelly Lowery can rot in hell so far as I am concerned.

Sadly he did, sadly he did but I certainly do not feel that I deserve such a person to be representing me in the Dail. Nor do I feel represented by him. But such is the problem with democracy.

It is about time those who did vote for Lowry started to make a bit of noise/protest to get him out, he got in before the Moriarty verdict was given and he has been more or less asked to resign by the Dail.

People in Cashel could not stomach Ahern to come into their midst and speak at a local hotel at the invite of the local CC and they threathened protests, Ahern got the message and pulled out.

Nth Tipp should follow, demand his resignation and tell Junior to go fup himself as well with the other Lowry councillors, minature Willie O'Deas in their gombeen methods.
