Actually can someone explain the reasoning behind having a tiny man on a bball team?

Didn't the Bulls have a fairly famous small fella back in the 90's?

Some small players make great point guards. Mugsy Bogues played for the hornets and was 5'3" and a hell of a player.

LeBron is so arrogant it's beyond belief

Did a googel. As far as I can see the reason for a smallan is similar to rugby's scrumhalf, i.e. An annoying little prick who works twice as hard as everyone, mops up ****ty situations and falls on loose ball.

Hogh-Christensen claimed Ainslie made contact with one of the buoys as he rounded on another mark of yesterday's second leg. To say Ainslie disagrees would be understatement.
"They made a big mistake because I'm angry and you don't want me angry," he says in his post-race interview.

Jimmy Magee was telling it as it was, then when the (surprising - to Magee anyway) verdict was announced, magee wryly announced that he probably got the verdict for managing to stay standing (despite the counts...) in that fight.

The Ukranians objected, but of course it was thrown out.

Doesn't bode well for anyone coming up against a GB boxer going forward. Now look at who stands in the way of some of our fighters........
Was thinking the exact same thing. Chinese had this in Beijing too. Of course the most ridiculous example was Floyd Merryweather, he boxed the head off the Korean who was awarded the Gold. To be fair to the Korean he looked staggered by the decision. GB boxers will get some medals unless their opponents absolutely trash them

The French guy tried something similar to get him port-starboard in Athens. Ainslie proceeded to beeeeotch-whip the fleet in fury. The Paulie comparison was not made lightly: you do NOT piss him off unless you can finish him, or else he will get even stronger. Forecast is for a bit less wind today and a lightish day for the medal race when being about 8kg lighter will be a killer. If Ainslie comes out of today within two points, JHC will be in trouble. He has to finish him today. Going to be fun.

Star lads got protested out of the first race. Still in ninth despite that. If it weren't paranoid, I'd be thinking people are out to get the new kids...

If this is the case, then we can expect Annalise Murphy to drop down the rankings again today. By her own admission, the lighter winds don't suit her as much as they do the smaller and lighter sailors.

True. If she can keep the gap coming out of today, it'll be a great day's work.

If results pan out for Ainslee+HC today,it could end up a 2 man shoot out for Gold+Silver as third place is 13 points behind already.

Been on Gwlad...? But, yes, it could. And if it does, JHC needs to be more than two points ahead coming out of today because otherwise, if the medal race decides a tie, the medal ceremony will be delayed due to Ainslie in 9th in the medal race taking JHC in 10th to Cherbourg...

Hardly rocket science though. The points are there in black and white to see on the London olympics official page,I had a look at them when I got in this morning.

    (Hate Gwlad by the way).

    Announcement folks:

The Olympics start today - see here for latest: http://www.london2012.com/athletics/...0803-121254045

We had our first runner out a few mins ago; as they would say in Galway - also ran.
At least she was faster than the 'athlete' in lane 2 (1:20.48). The old boys any evening in UL are doing that per lap.....

I never go on Gwlad either. The many good posters on there are overshadowed by the many nobs on there also, and I find it embarassing, especially since I now have one leg in either country - (Saffas call the English salty balls from the colonial days as they had a leg in both countries = balls in the sea)

I hope Ainsley does it, that Dane is a fine sailor but the trick he and the dutch fella tried to pull was a disgrace.
My brother lives in Lymington and they would know of each other from racing, socialising etc (its a small town). And apparently he's a top bloke and really down to earth. He lives the life of a bachelor in the centre of town and he's often seen with a crowd of women chasing him.

Good news from Wembly - track is now waterlogged and costing the athletes over a sec/lap. Our lady may yet get through as a fastest loser (she ran dry).

Whatever about the runners, spare a thought for the hammer qualifiers and HJ..... Expect big names to go out...!
