Don't really know why England were so determined to get him. Saracens play rubbish stuff - very lateral when they do go wide. England hardly set the world alight with their back play in the Six Nations.

Mike Catt is taking the backs for the tour to South Africa. I'd have rated him ahead of Farrell by a distance.

Nasty piece of work, although a decent kicker. Send him back to Wigan!

That is interesting. Apart from the bigger bucks, Ashton left Saints form Sarries due to the strength of the old 'Wigan RL' connection with Farrell.

I'd have them both. Huge fan of Andy Farrell, he'd be exactly the sort of guy I'd want in my coaching team. You can't fake presence. With his extensive rugby league background you'd imagine he could fit in as defense coach – Lancaster as HC, Catt as AC, Farrell as DC, Rowntree as FC. Strong set-up.

Ya agree with that. But if it is a straight shootout for backs coach I'd take Catt every time. I could imagine him allowing creative inside players like Flood or Owen Farrell the chance to express themselves and bringing the most out of Tuilagi, Foden, etc. I think he'd offer them a lot more in attack than Farrell would.

Agreed. Catty played 13 years of international rugby as a 10, 12, 15 – incredible playing background to base your coaching career on as an attack coach. He has seen the game from every decision-making position in the backline [bar scrum-half] and was always a clever, skillful and imaginative player.

Someone asked earlier on this thread about Colomiers.
They won their last game and get promotion from Federale 1 (french 3rd division) to Pro D2 next season.
They should have the smaller purse then.

Nothing signed yet, but you can understand why Pocock would go. He is keen to play for a team that is capable of winning something. He should be on a team like that anyway. He´s too good to be on a lower end of a league team. He can only improve (scary as it sounds) with better players around him.

A kick in the head for the force if it does happen, but they look like a decent franchise with a loyal fanbase.
He was as lame as a duck. Not the metaphorical lame duck either, but a real duck that was actually lame. Maybe from stepping on a land mine or something.

Excellent signing, well done to Bath. Now that they've finally got rid of McGeehan hopefully they'll be a better team next season.

Scarlets have released 2nd rows Day (Bath) Read (Cardiff Blues) and Welch (Exeter Chiefs) and at time of print hav replaced them with George Earle (Cheetahs) and Argentinian Tomas Vallejos (Harlequins) in an effort to beef up their underpowered pack in an attempt to get the best out of their talented locally produced backline. Rumours are a couple of more forwards to come.
