No bouncy castles please. It isn't a kiddies birthday party, it is a rugby match.

If you want more fans ......
I know its like church to you guys but the growth in the fan base at leinster is phenomenal. I was asked for a suggestion. Rugby has a massive advantage over soccer because it appeals to families as a whole. Why not chase that market?
I'm not saying it needs to be a full circus but a little more wouldn't go astray. But maybe its already started and my opinion is out of date. I've unfortunately only made 2 games this year.
I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain
Ask Llanelli for a loan of those hot tubs they had one year.
I appreciate that bills need paying, but the rugby should be reason number one for going to the stadium. I think that the gradual introduction of family friendly stuff is great and successful so far. Let it continue to grow and develop at it's own pace
I am the million man.

Leinster winning 3 of the last 4 H/C is why their fanbase is growing,3 or 4 lean years and all the bouncy castles in disney wont help fill the place.
What happens on the field is what determines 99% of people going or not.
If Munster win 3 of the next 4 H/C there wont be a ticket available to see them train not to mind a game.
IMO fix what goes on on the field the rest takes care of itself.
[QUOTE=barleys chinos;1129990]That's how I'd see it too. I'd also suggest that the kids might bore easily if it was the background stuff was the attraction. They'll come with the family once and then that could be it. They keep flocking back to the RDS because Leinster keep winning and scoring tries.
I am the million man.
Also half of the population of the country live in or around Dublin, I'd forget the career in marketing upfront
David Wallace, James Coughlan - Heroes, Jonathan Davies
Having an incredibly successful team (on a European scale) based in the biggest metropolitan centre in the country is a huge asset to Leinster. All the bouncy castles and candyfloss machines in the world won't bring in the crowds if the wins or the drama disappear for longer than a season.

Think everyone is giving upfront an unjustified hard time. All he's doing is making a few suggestions re match day and getting bigger attendances at the lesser games.
while it is correct to state that if Munster won a few trophies, attendances would soar, you have to remember that there are only two trophies up for grabs each year and hence a maximum of two teams win a trophy each year.
Everyone else has to go home with nothing.
i do think attendances would improve if they can move the matches to sat afternoon or early sat evening. Friday night at 8pm stinks.

Taz-Where did you get that information as I have seen nowhere that he(Penney) was ruled out?
Editor - The writer stands by the Penney information.

Editor-- This article originally said Rob Penney had missed out on the Munster coaching job. That information was incorrect.
How many games a year do they have these climbing wall & bouncy castles? I think they have it once for a family day. They had feck all there for the B&I cup semifinal other than pubs open on Good Friday.
Has the growth anything to do with Leinsters success in the H/cup? A few years ago, I was at the first ML game in the Aviva Stadium between Leinster and Munster, you know the one they destroyed with blue smoke, full house, fair play to them but guess what they were advertising as we left the stadium? Tickets for the following Saturday for their H/cup game in the RDS against Racing. Would it that happen now, probably not, but I serioulsy doubt bouncy castles has anything to do with the fact that their tickets are in demand.
Add in a lot larger population in thier nekc of the woods and the recession has probably less effect on their support base than Munsters.
I want to change the direction of this thread.
Bouncy Castles
We Doctors who mix with Dockers on Shannonside call them Bouncing Castles.
I think decent limerick people wont leave their kids in bouncy castle its too fancy.
Bouncy castle would be handy for those coming over the walls !
If you can ignore the children's comments that go with them, there are some impressive Avatars on this thread!
What you say is true, but only to a certain extent. For the most part, West Cork is Football, East Cork is Hurling and the City is any sport that is being successful at a particular time, Football, Hurling, Soccer, Rugby, Basketball, whatever.
A successful Munster team, playing high profile matches will hoover up support in Cork, particularly since the GAA and Rugby seasons are in opposite halves of the year.
“We’re in this mess, not because Fianna Fail policies have failed, but because they have succeeded.” They haven't gone away, you know"
No, DT, "they will not be moved from Thomond Park" because:
- Ten year tickets have been sold on the basis of them being played in TP, creating a contractual obligation,
- There is no stadium available to MR in Cork with the required capacity.
In, say 2019, once the Ten Year tickets have expired, and if Páirc Uí Caoimh has been promised for a successful 2023 RWC bid, there is nowt to stop these high profile games being given to Cork.
“We’re in this mess, not because Fianna Fail policies have failed, but because they have succeeded.” They haven't gone away, you know"
te nyear tickets are up in 2018 - not long to wait!

But but think about the huge potential untapped market. Think about the lonely supermarket aisles too.
By a lonely veggie aisle, I heard a young man calling , Dougie they have taken you away. For they took away our ball, so the Lims could have it all, and our pitches are all meadows filled with Hay..
Lo Lie , the fields down the mardyke, where once the water peed in through the walls, for we live in hope and pray for our ball back some fine day,but Frank Murphy has us sewn up right n all.
