He was as lame as a duck. Not the metaphorical lame duck either, but a real duck that was actually lame. Maybe from stepping on a land mine or something.
Used to be, have had a long-lay off from it! Was meant to start back with some light training tonight but that fell through.. anyway, are you thinking of giving it a go?

Cool! I'd just need fencing on all sides (it's safer) and a willing volunteer/victim![]()
I think Ronda would be pleased with this!
Irish fighter Chris Fields defeated Pavel Kusch at CWFC Fight Night 7 tonight and claims the Cage Warriors MW title. Congrats!
Showdown on MMA: UFC's tide is turning
Joe Ferraro, sportsnet.ca
2012 has been a tumultuous year for the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Injuries have plagued events in an unprecedented fashion, decimating one show and cancelling another. But it appears the tide is beginning to turn for the organization. In fact, the stars may be aligning which promises a strong close to an otherwise forgettable year.
On the horizon is the return of UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre, the company's top pay-per-view draw and biggest star in the sport. As GSP begins his training camp to take on interim champion Carlos Condit at UFC 154 in November, one month earlier a super-fight of magnificent proportions will take place one month earlier. For any fanatic who yearns for the sport's elite to truly answer the questions that arise from the many "pound for pound" debates, an answer is forthcoming. Two of the sport's best are set to tangle at UFC 153. Featherweight champion Jose Aldo Jr. welcomes former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar to the 145-pound division.
It's a matchup that has spawned venomous debates from both sides of MMA's opinionated snake pit. Many of the fans siding with Brazil's Aldo claim that Edgar would (and now will) receive a rude awakening if the two were locked inside the Octagon. On the contrary, there are those who staunchly believe that the American, a modern day, real life, Rocky Balboa, has a variety of answers to the utter devastation the champion possesses in his skill set.
Aldo has a vast amount of weapons at his disposal, but his kryptonite versus Edgar may be his devastating Muay Thai game. On the surface, and to be more specific, Edgar has shown he is often susceptible to leg kicks. Rest assured, Aldo and his camp will sharpen everything around this angle of offence, from execution to timing. It is imperative if they wish to emerge victorious in Rio de Janeiro on Oct. 13.
Edgar is a master of space, using his footwork and pace to often dictate when and where the action will take place. If Jose cannot slow down Frankie by either stopping him his tracks or chopping away at his speed it is he who may be thwarted with a rude awakening. Frankie's power often came into question at 155 pounds, although he has hurt his fair share of opponents. In his new division, what was missing at lightweight may be found at featherweight.
With the New Jersey native consistently hailed for his speed, he will have to kick it up to a higher notch when he drops down a weight class. The featherweight division boasts a far quicker pace than the lightweight class, so look for Edgar to continue to evolve this part of his game.

This is a pretty interesting insight into some of the conditioning a fighter will do. Condit is due to face GSP at UFC 154

TUF:16 will be airing Monday's at midnight on ESPN. So that means we will have double helpings of TUF each week as "The Smashes" airs Wednesday's at midnight on ESPN too. The first episode of TUF:16 is very good, two hours of good quality fights that include KO's and awesome BJJ, not to be missed!
A bit depressed I have to say... Too bad Jones didn't take Chael's offer to replace Hendo!
But I'd say he would have gotten a pasting.
Weidman Ko of Munoz was something else. I have watched Shogun V Vera and was torn for the Machida V Bader fight, they are two of my favourites. With his performance Machida probably earned another shot at the title.
Belfort is a serious challenge but I can't see Jones losing that one. So we'll probably see a Jones V Machida II, I hope Lyoto makes it this time.
Another depressing thing was the Frankie V Henderson fight, heartbreaking decision, Frankie is some fighter and was in charge for four rounds, he should have won his belt back I absolutely agree with the first judge.
I know Jones came in for a lot of criticism for that decision, but I think I'm one of the few who thought it was the right thing to do!
Have to agree about Edgar, I thought he earned the win and I think he was hard done by with that decision

UFC on FX 5 http://www.mmamania.com/2012/10/2/34...-card-previews
Coverage starts 1am on ESPN (Sky channel 417)
Will have a look at UFC on FX 5 later during the week.
The most exciting perspective now is to see Henderson V Diaz, expect some serious collision.
I'd love to see Dos Santos V Overeem but that's not before 2013 apparently.
Silva V Bonnar does not sound like a real contest but who knows...
BTW, I was amazed by the Bisping V GI Joe fight, not at all what I expected.
Anyone want to catch Irish fighter Aisling Daly up now against Barb Honchak on Invicta FC 3?! Good luck Ais!! Streaming live on invictafc.com
Oz I only caught the main event last night and it was rubbish! Will have a look for the other fights tomorrow
So did you look at the other fights? Guess they make that main event look better...
Best part of that PPV was the Silva V Bonnar trailer. I hadn't realised yet that Silva was moving up to light heavyweight. It makes this fight a little bit more of a contest. It is probably more the trailer than Bonnar future strategy but even at that weight class, I wouldn't count on my chin to beat Silva.
Once that is done, if it goes as expected and if Silva stays in this category, it opens a number of perspectives; Machida, Evans, Rua, Jones...
Silva vs Jones would be incredible. I would be the biggest money fight in MMA history if it went ahead.

Jeeze is that the weigh in? He's in fantastic shape.
I haven't reached the big fight yet but Fitch V Silva is a cracker!
It was ya. Won't give away anything so but I really enjoyed the event! Great show!
The main event was a complete NON event. Bonnar is a donkey in terms of top level, he has beaten absolutely no one of note (Jardine being his biggest scalp) and has failed at any stiff challenge.

He's still a resilient fighter with a lot of heart, as small as it was he had a genuine chance.
However, true story: it was probably meant as a match to break Silva into the light heavyweight division.
Given the turn of this fight, I am thinking he is going to stay there and, despite their reluctance to fight each other, it will probably end up with a Jones V Silva fight if that is what Dana wants (Jones has obviously depleted the divsion's stock of contenders). First he'll probably have to go through a choice of Evans, Rua or Machida, let's see if his karate kid **** works against them.
I am not knocking Bonnar, more the match up that was made by the UFC. It wasn't interesting, as much as they tried to make out it was...
Silva said after the fight he has no interest in going to light heavyweight, but money talks and the Jones fight would be the biggest pay out in MMA history. However I think he has more of an eye on a fight with GSP though, which would pay huge too and is a MUCH easier fight IMHO.
