Great to see the 10 runners, including all the ones I was hoping would be declared. Really looking forward to seeing this on Saturday.

Not bad racing Kilbeggan tonight with the Midlands National at 8:30. I'll be having a wee interest bet on these....so they are to be avoided

    7:00: Substitute.
    7:30: The Westhowaya
    8:00: Double Seven
    8:30: Liberty Counsel

Great to see Imperial Shabra win. Most be the most over raced horse in Ireland in the last few years! And ultra game and consistent.

Really delighted to see Caim Hill come bac to form the last few runs. He lost his confidence completely and Fenton has done a cracking job geting him back to near his best.

I still remember him as a top class bumper horse beating Frascati Park and Derinlaur and then a cracking novice hurdle in Galway accounting for Ballybrit specialists Montero and Trucker's Delight.

Double seven was appalling, have been keeping an eye on him but that run was to bad for words, he will probably piss up in a handicap next time out!?!

I've suddenly got a horn about this King George later! Has to be the best quality field we've seen all year. We have:

2012 Eclipse winner, 2011 King George winner, 2011 King Edward winner, 2011 Chester Vase 2nd (Nathaniel)
2012 Hardwicke winner, 2011 Breeders Cup Turf 2nd, 2011 Voltigeur winner (Sea Moon)
2011 & 2012 Coronation Cup winner, 2012 Dubai Sheema Classic 2nd, 2011 Breeder Cup Turf winner, 2009 Racing Post Trophy winner (St Nicholas Abbey)
2011 Hong Kong Vase winner, 2011 Melbourne Cup winner (Dunaden)
2011 Arc winner, 2011 Italian Oaks winner, plus some German Group races I don't know of! (Danedream)
2012 Japanese Derby winner (Deep Brilliante)
2011 Prix Niel winner (Reliable Man)
2011 St Leger 2nd (Brown Panther)
    2011 St Leger winner(Masked Marvel)
Spin 103.8 Handicap winner!!! (Robin Hood)

Obsessive would be a good word for AOB, if he wasn't a trainer my money says he would be a monk in Glenstal or somewhere similar.

    My interests today.

    Newmarket:
3:10 Listed Race: It is hard to look beyond Set To Music

    Market Rasen:
    2:50 Hurdle: Solaras Exhibition
    3:25: Chase: Auroras Encore EW

    Ascot:
    2:45: Handicap: Fire Ship
3:20: Group 2: Carlton House is the class horse in this race but with this being over 8f he may just be worth taking on with a very small interest wager on Questioning.
    3:55: Handicap: Noble Citizen EW
4:35: King George Group 1: Excellent race and if Nathaniel is ready after his Eclipse win 2 weeks ago he should have a great chance of following up. That said he faces stiff competition. Sea Moon is a very nice horse and St. Nicholas Abbey has shown he can win at this level. I actually think Danedream may be the biggest danger though. She was outstanding in the Arc and her last run where she was last of 4 in the Grand Prix De Chantilly really wouldn't have been run to suit here. More runners here and sure to be pace on so I'd give her a chance. I am also interested to see the Japanese horse Deep Brillante.

Excellent stuff although I am a touch surprised and disappointed that you left out Reliable Man's 2011 Prix Du Jockey Club victory.

Brilliant race. What a finish. Delighted I stuck with Danedream. She has shown her Arc form again to take this by a nostril from Nathaniel with St. Nicholas Abbey about 2l back in third. That is great for the form as well as it really means both first and second can be considered very high class Group 1 horses.

Also I did chance the tricast, Danedream, Nathaniel, St Nicholas Abbey which paid 129/1.

Slight correction too to my earlier post...It was the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud rather than Chantilly. Feck sake I don't like it when I make a silly error like that.

Indeed. Even those of us who are fairly obsessive when it comes to horseracing are left in the ha'penny place by AOB. Great to be such a success and great that the whole family love the life surrounded by horses and seemingly happy with the regimental life but it wouldn't be for many. Lets just say I like to lie about the place at times and not be tied down by a strict timetable. I wouldn't have liked to grow up in such a house as a teenager. You'd have been terrified to have a smoke or a wee drop.

As I posted before, to watch AOB saddle those fillies before the Epsom oaks was to watch genius at work. But you are right benny I should imagine it could be a fairly monastic household!?!

Wonderbar tricast, Danedream was super but I thought the high draw did not favour SNA as he had to be dropped in behind and I felt JOB left him too much to do as he was pulling them back in the straight, a great race rarely do they live up to the hype.

Impressive performance by Great Heavens to win the Irish Oaks. Princess Highway just could not quicken on the heavy ground and ends up third.

Good win for Bayrir earlier at Maisons-Laffitte @ 9/2

First day of Galway today. Not, by any stretch, a tip but 'forty one phases' is going in the 17.00 at a very big price, I will be having a couple of quid EW as I thought the horse ran well in Dundalk behind next years derby favourite and 20/1 in a dead eight is quite good value for a horse owned by JP. Doubtless there will be a convenient NR between now and this evening.

I note that normal service is in progress at Galway with Weld having 2 of the first 3 winners. Ballydoyle odds on shot beaten by Weld's Thunder Mountain in the maiden just now. That's not the first time that has happened.

    Weld is some man.

He came under pressure a long way from home. It is still early days and I'd imagine he wants it slower as I think I may have said earlier. Also Galway is a funny old track. I wouldn't write off a horse because of a poor run there although it has to be said this lad may struggle to win a race. At least you only had small bet on him.

Someone isn't betting responsibly anyway it seems as this lad is being backed. Now 6/1 from 9/1 so the info looks good. I've gone for Encrypted Message though already in this race.
