Is Mark Phayer still at it?
Played in Dunmanway. Tough physical match with very little open play. Scarriff needed a late penalty to claim draw. Good effort from the West Cork Harlequins (local name for the Amalgamation, easier to type than Bantry/Dunmanway and resulting from a rather stylish new quartered jersey).

Kilfeacle are doing well this year. great win again today for them.
Richmond won 37-10.
Christians 22-10 cobh
Tralee 24-10 Senans
Kilfecale 32- 8 NCW
Kanturk 41-12 cross
skibb 31-12 clan
clonmel 30-17 st marys
Crosshaven and Senans could be in trouble..
Anyone at the Senans game today? did Ian fitz play?
Especially since there will probably be at least 3 to go down this year. It's early yet though...think Senans could still upset a few. Clan and Cross are down for sure unless something changes.

I think NCW should be fine in the next few weeks i think there missing players still over the GAA.
I think Munster teams in the AIL should be safe seems to be only Connacht teams at the bottom so should only be 3 teams going down so far.
Was at the Tralee V Senans match, final score was 30-12, Tralee o/h kicked 6 penalties.
In paper it mentioned serious injury to a player - was it a Tralee or Senans player and hope they recover quickly.
Was at the Ennis game and must say it was a very enjoyable tough typical junior game and while Muskerry deserved the win it was great intenity from both teams
Iv mentioned it on this thread already but Iv seen a few games this season and I think the new scrummagine law, and the five second rule have both made positive improvements to the game at this level. Albeit, the 5 second rule will suit the better teams a bit more.
Senans pack were huge and dominated the scrum. Tralee's hooker seemed to be carrying an injury and couldn't throw the ball into the lineout (well that was his excuse anyway) so Senans had the beating of them in the lineouts as well. Tralee were very good in broken play and played at a very high pace. They burnt out the Senans pack by half time. A Senans player got injured early in the second half and ambulance called so game was delayed for around 25mins, took the momentum out of the game. Luckily for Senans I'd say because Tralee were playing well at the time and a cricket score was on the cards. Senans player is ok I believe, was taken to hospital as precaution because of neck complaint.
anyone at the cobh game? heard the threw it away. although score line doesn't suggest that!
It is clearly is making a difference...so far in Div 1 there has been 842 points scored compared to 730 at the same point last year. 15% increase.
In Div 2 436 points have been scored after TWO games compared to 410 last year. Pro rata this is an even bigger increase as there are only 6 games per weekend this year compared to 7 per weekend last year. This is an approximate 24% increase in the amount of points scored per game.
Very nerdy stats I know...

So three games in and looking at the table, is anyone surprised at the table? Does anyone feel some sides are punching above/below their weight? Can Richmond be beaten? Are Clonmel/kilfeacle/kanturk dark horses? Anyone see a new player/Players emerging from the ranks?
Whats the feeling out there?
It seems without Points deductions or Ben martin to talk about this forum has gone a bit quite, Anyone agree?
Or is it all too early to tell?
Dont agree, there is plenty talk about the league, and there appears to be a lot more posters engaged on the topic.
In relation to your other questions, looking forward to seeing Steven Hansel in action from Skibb, looks to be the SA player referred to earlier in the thread who has come to Ire with intention of playing for Munster!
Richmond look like they will be tough to beat alright...not sure how many of their tougher games they have away from home, will prob be the difference
I agree with bobbin, think the forum is busier than ever...
I also agree that home/away will hold the key.

the only way Richmond might get beaten is injuries. They are playing Waterpark next weekend in challenge cup then are out in the AIB cup week after then back into league. They have a strong squad but will need to keep them fresh and fit! Their backline is on fire heard in 10 minutes they scored 3 tried yesterday and Waterpark had all the play. Joe McSweeney for Waterpark did he play with Cork Con before?
Is this Steven Hansel the new Ben Martin???!
Steven Hansel scored 2 tries, 2 convs & 4 penalties for Skibb in their away win at Clanwilliam. This young Saffer OH is seemingly an impressive player. No doubt Munster will be taking note

know from bitter experience that it takes a few games for a relegated side to adjust to different teams, unfamiliar venues, different journeys etc. AFAIK Thurles had not been down in Castleisland for 10 or 11 years. Felt that we were as good as we could possibly be and we dominated up front, while your team took ages to get going and never really settled into the game. Sadly, can see how you struggled in 1 for a few seasons, as we went through that ourselves when we were the team above relegation teams for 3 or 4 years. A win will settle your players and stop the slide. We found our relegation to 2 hard to handle and only after Christmas did we regroup by calling back one or two who were playing only football and appealing to some retirees with more to give. Think it will be a hard season for your lads. Mind you, nothing went right for you yesterday!
