not so just heard this morning that the senior branch have reistated kilfeacle to division 1 and also left clanwilliam up this is a
complete farce because the branch are running scared of legal action, you now have a situation where the branch have overturned their own decision and having the gaul to tell the junior committee to reinstate kilfeacle who refused point blank who are these faceless and gutless people , the league will now have to be redrawn the junior committee should tell them to stick it.
sorry what was wrong with the spelling![]()
Farsical. After the complete and utter mess they made of things last year, they drop another clanger before the season even starts. Its like a Monty Python sketch. Presume this means 3 teams to go down, possibly 4 depending on how winner goes in rd robin and/or if Munster team relegated from UBL. Going to make things very interesting at the bottom.
far as i know the junior committee are seeking the feelings of all the other clubs in div 1,my own opinion having served
on the junior committee some years ago is that nothing has changed with the senior branch.they get the junior branch to
run the junior leagues and then overrule them every time .the junior committee should refuse to redraw the division1 and 2
because this also upsets div2 , they have made no decision on how many teams will be regelated next season.
why dont they get the 2 teams to play before the start of the season the winner stays in div 1 and the loser goes down
Con man thats way too logical and straight forward for munster branch to consider!!
well thats what should happen cause all the fixtures have to be redrawn now again play the match and that would solve everything dont ye think
I'm sure the branch would love that idea but there isn't a hope in hell either club would agree to that, especially clan I'd imagine.

If the branch had not overruled the junior committees decision to dock Galbally the points earlier this season this
situation would never have arisen, its Galbally who should have been relegated,on con mans suggestion that will never happen,
for fear of legal action the branch just passed the buck and left the junior committee and the leagues in dissaray,if the junior branch
have any balls ,they will tell the senior branch to take a hike.but that wont happen too many people watching their places on the
committee.
Have it from horses mouth - High Court writ ready to go and Branch blinked. Why? Because of the ridiculous cost of it all. Facts as related to me: Team Sheet given to ref as required. Allegedly official of team asked MAR match official/linesman if he had to give sheet to opposition before match and was told no, that after would do. Opposition then failed to accept sheet after match when offered.
This fudge happened approx 8 years ago when Tralee were allowed stay up after threatening legal action arising from what they said was unclear guidelines on criteria for relegation in rules. Different circumstances but with Seniors having blinked twice (at least) when threatened with law, one must assume that that tactic works. BTW, am not at all denigrating a clubs right to enforce what they see as their legal rights by litigation, but it is sad to see it in sport. Rot set in in the formation of AIL when Wanderers litigated and indeed later on kept up their form when threatening to hold up Aviva development until paid off for their crappy little cornet pavilion in Lansdowne Road.
Also BTW, this is not an Island swipe at Tralee, who have prospered since narrowly avoiding relegation that year.

They are blinking wrongly. They can, and should, face it down, because the authorities are on the side of the Branch. The recent English and Welsh cases make that clear; and it's EASIER to get a Court to review sporting decisions in E&W than here.
Edit: I note this has upset some Kilfeacle stalwart. Pontypool were upset, too, as were Aberavon in the past. Much good it did them; much good it would do Kilfeacle. Or, indeed, did a Leinster club in the recent past when they tried it.

Vorsprung durch Pfennig.
the junior branch should tell the senior branch to f o it has noting got to do with them but they are to many yes men on the committee they are a joke
the junior committee will never tell the branch to "f off" and as the junior committee is a sub committee of the branch and the issue seems to have escalated then the issue has got something to do with the branch.
If you believe their is too many "yes men on the committee and that "they are a joke" then why dont you go to your club and ask to be nominated to join the junior committee and you will see what all the work those men that you say are a joke have to do to ensure all the rugby that you enjoy for most of the year actually goes ahead
what are u saying that they are doing a good job is it? they made a joke of the league last year and it hasnt even started and they have it f up already cause they have the fixtures out
The lads working on the Junior commitee are the hardest working under resourced people in the Branch, they do 90% of the work the branch needs done and they represent 70+ junior clubs, a senior club member only has 1 club to worry about. Its insanity when you think about, and as Con Man has proven its a thankless job, the only people to blame for this are the pricks within the individual clubs involved who wont accept they are wrong.
Im here to spread the word..common sense is not just for animals
I hear the latest is that the junior secretary is writing to the clubs to get their views on this matter,it wont matter a damn bit
what the clubs think the branch will simply steamroll this decision through, because the senior men on the branch have told
the junior committee that legal action is not an option they want to confront.
now there will never be a team relegated cause all they have to say is we are going to the high court and they will stay up its a joke
Waterpark play Monkstown next week according to LFs.
Any more season warm up games?
Anyone have any ideas on who may win Division 2 of the Munster Junior League this year? I hear Mallow have some back line and kinsale could be a dark horse...........
think abbeyfeale will be the dark horse this year in div 3,a lot of good young guys coming through from their under age
Think those frenchies have joined con on senior contracts. Without them they will struggle.
Mallow should have been promoted last season until they lost out on the last day of the league.
Yea Abbeyfeale have a strong side, but the key to winning Div 3 will be away form for most clubs, alot of sides will be very strong at home, some of them have strong home records,City have'nt lost a league game at home in over 2 and a half years,Charleville is a hard place to get a result and I honestly think this will be the tightest league in years, the travelling distances will play there part, long way to go to play a match for the likes of City,Abbeyfeale,Killorglin,Dingle and Scariff who are at opposite ends of Munster.
You would think Mallow should go up but when the chips were down last year they couldnt do the business. Kinsale always seem to drag quality players out of the woodwork and Killarney will have to be strong this year again. Think Pres have lost Rhino, massive loss to them. Div 3 will be really interesting, reckon some of the Kerry clubs could do well. Good point that away form will be vital with the amount of travelling in the division.
this a reply comment to bandit7, true enough on what you said on mallow not doing the business on the last day of the season but a new season brings a new fresh go for all teams so with kilfeacle out of the loop in Div 2. its sure to be a wide open league
Castleisland first league fixture in Division 2 is away to Kilfeacle, whatever may happen. Second island fixture is at home to Killarney - local derby so anyones game but should give an indication of how Killarney will do this season. Fancy Mallow and whoever is relegated from 1 as probable promotion candidates. Dark horse would IMO be Ennis. Just a hunch.
