Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now?

2FM. First time listening to it in an age.

Lots of live, and pre-recorded, stuff from Stradbally. Elbow were very enjoyable. A good band who handle playing in a field very well. Some Glen Hansard and Hot Chip coming up.

I know nothing of the latter so I'll keep listening for a while anyway.

Oh to be young again? Jeeeeeez! That hour between 11 and midnight was a write off (for me). I've rinsed my ears in the meantime with a solution of Etta James, Neil Young and The Rolling Stones, amongst others, courtesy of Lillian Smith on Radio1. I'll leave you with this tasty little cover by a technically excellent local (to me) guitar player. He made his Electric Picnic debut this year. I hope he keeps gigging. (He needs to find his niche)

He was as lame as a duck. Not the metaphorical lame duck either, but a real duck that was actually lame. Maybe from stepping on a land mine or something.

Only half watching it - but Jo Brand followed by some tuneless turkey, FFS - it's not looking good. Who is he, incidentally?

Edit - it has improved now that he has shut up!

Pity they chose this song for the Foo's, it's definitely not their greatest work.

In that case you'd think that Gom Yorke would have learnt how to sing properly by now!
