Ah, don't really want to get into it here, but it's the constant fawning over Munster by the media. I mean credit where credit is due, Munster have a cracking record but this is just a sample of the Grade A shlte Thornley regails us with: "IRISH RUGBY is alive and throbbing again, and once more the debt to the mighty men of Munster is immense."
I mean come on! Throbbing????
I know it's offside to say it,but while I would like all Irish sides to do well, if Munster had lost at the weekend, it would have barely registered on my radar. The only teams I care about are Leinster and Irelandso to say that the rest of Irish rugby is in debt to Munster is complete b****x. But Thornley's raison d'etre is to pander to the red masses. It is week in and week outand if you're not part of that clique, it's immensely irritating. It's the same with the Tony Wards, Neil Francises and Dave Kellys of this world. As journalists, they've lost all perspective, probably at the behest of their paymasters, and definitely to sell more papers.
Take a step back lads. It went beyond a joke about 5 years ago. Now it's a national joke that only Ulster, Connacht and Leinster rugby supportersseem to get.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand. I have to say @@@@SPAN style="font-weight: bold;">I am surprised that Munster would be happy to lose to Leinster twice in one season for a mere cut at the Heineken Cup,@@@@/SPAN> especially considering the vitriol spewed out in our direction on these and other pages.
