Why are we playing Horgan? Surely a younger guy like Mossie or Earls would have benefited from a run in what is a strong side. Other than that am very happy with the selection.

Gerry Hurley, ran as far away form Munster as you can.......a winger in the team and a joker on the bench ahead of you.....think of the 2 lads starting the HC final if you need further motivation.........

If Earls is not injured then there is a clear bias towards Cork players....as I said I do not mind the fact that Hurley is starting at FB, but surely Earls deserved his place instead of him....

Why Horgan and O'Meara are involved is truely bewildering...

Lads, how many here have actually seen Earls play? I've only seen him a handful of times, he looks promising but not exactly ready for top tier rugby just yet. We don't want to rush him in for 2 reasons a) injuries at his age could finish his career and b) mindful of what Brian O'Brien said about how Staunton was dealt with, basically shattered his confidence and he's never recovered.

Yea,was taking to him down in Lmk last sat night-was about 10 hours after Garryowen had wrapped up the AIL and the free bar had more than kicked in..but yea,he has some kind of injury, cant recall what he said it was called, but he said he aint been able to run due to it in weeks...

Eugene Mcgovern also had a weird injury-essentially its a sore a*s muscle that the physios nver came accross b4...got  agood slagging over it....as has Earls off of some of the players...calling him traitor/judas etc for his move to Garryowen....

One unimportant game at home with a fairly full strenght side would be easing him in Joey. As most people have said why Hoggie or BOM? We know what they can do.

Perhaps, but would you risk both Earls and Hurley in the same game?

On Gerry Hurley, clearly he has no future in this Munster team.

Neither of them are 16 years of age. Earls is good enough to tour Argentina with the senior squad but not to play in a nothing A league game at home? Hurley has been playing AIL for years. The opposition arent that much better than say Shannon or Garryowen.

I think we should concentrate on the positives, namely young Hurley at FB and the fact that its a strong side that should beat Warriors

Cork Costitution full-back Denis Hurley is one of two changes that Munster make for the final game of the season against Glasgow Warriors at Musgrave Park on Saturday (5.30).
The twenty two year old's excellent form of late sees him rewarded with a place in the starting line-up for what will be his second start in a Munster shirt at senior level. He made his debut almost exactly a year ago in Stradey Park against Llanelli Scarlets.

The other change from the side that started against Edinburgh last weekend is in the back row where Denis Leamy is preferred to John O'Sullivan while Donncha O'Callaghan returns to the 22 having missed last weekend with a shoulder injury.

Paul O'Connell made a return to action last weekend having recovered from a broken thumb sustained in the RBS Six Nations game against Scotland and his return to Murrayfield proved a happy occasion, the Munster lock playing the full game and also winning the Man of the Match award.

"Whatever about the award," said O'Connell, "I was delighted to get that game under my belt and get through it ok. It was great to be back. You don't normally get man of the match awards unless those around you are performing and I think there were a few who might have been given it (award) instead of me and I would have had no complaints at all."

Although not in contention for any honours in the League O'Connell focus is clear. "No, it's a pity that we don't have a say in where the trophy ends up. A few disappointing results early on has us where we are and maybe that's a good lesson for us. But we've won three in a row now and I think it's really important for us to put in a strong perfomance and continue in that vein."
